Guptill looked promising in the last two matches but he hasn't been able to convert the starts into big ones. His opening partner Smith seems to be in a better form with a quick-fire fifty in the second game while Chris Lynn, too, has clicked in two games. Jason Mohammed has been the most consistent of all with two unbeaten innings of 42 and 33. So the top four will form the core of their batting with Guptill trying to get into the groove.
Sohail Tanvir is going to be the biggest threat with the ball and he will be backed to rock Trinbago early on. The fast bowler has taken eight wickets already and is currently the leading wicket-taker in the tournament. Adam Zampa has also been among the wickets and the leg-spinner is going to be Guyana's next best bet to push the Knight Riders on the back foot.
They bat deep and their top order looks solid in Amla, McCullum and Munro. Amla, in four innings, has two big scores of 81 and 74 and the South African is likely to make the most runs for Trinbago on Sunday. Munro will be coming with a fifty in the last match and his innings is going to be important as McCullum is struggling with his form. Dwayne Bravo has had one good game so far and he is going to be a big wicket in the middle order.
With six wickets in four games, Sunil Narine has been the pick of the bowlers in this side. Dwayne Bravo, too, has taken an equal number of wickets so far. But given the impressive economy rate of Narine, it is the off-spinner who should be backed for the best bowling figures against the home team. But apart from these two, the rest of the bowlers have been pretty ordinary.
In the nine games played between the two teams, Guyana Amazon Warriors have five wins while Trinbago Knight Riders have four. So there is not much to differentiate between the two sides as far as overall head-to-head performance goes. But the Warriors have a clear edge in the fact that they have never been beaten by the Knight Riders in the three games held at the Providence. So home advantage is definitely going to be with them and they will be seeking their fourth straight win over Trinbago at this venue on Sunday.
Trinbago Knight Riders have a lot of potential in their batting and if they are able to up their bowling performance, they can stun any other team in this competition. We, however, are backing Guyana Amazon Warriors to win at their home ground.
