Gloucestershire Team News & Playing 11
GLOUCS Team News
Liam Norwell was very expensive for Gloucestershire in the first game against Somerset, leaking 22 runs off the 9 deliveries he bowled in the entire match. The medium pacer was replaced in the next game against Middlesex by Matt Taylor who finished with impressive figures of 2-36 from four overs. Gloucestershire are likely to retain Taylor for this upcoming game against Kent and so we expect them to go in with an unchanged lineup.
GLOUCS Key Players
Ryan Higgins and Michael Klinger have both hit a half-century in this year's Vitality Blast. While the former scored 55 against Somerset, the latter struck 58 in the previous game against Middlesex. While these two batsmen will be the key men for Gloucestershire against Kent, there will also be a lot of hopes pinned on Miles Hammond and Ian Cockbain who have looked promising so far. Among the bowlers, it will be mainly up to the likes of David Payne, Thisara Perera and Benny Howell to take wickets and exert pressure on the opposition. Payne has taken three wickets in two games and the team will back this seam bowler to make a significant impact with the ball.
GLOUCS Recent Form
Gloucestershire have one win and a loss from the two matches they have played so far and are currently placed sixth in the South Group standings. After losing to Somerset by six wickets in their first match, they bounced back into the tournament with a comprehensive six-wicket win over Middlesex in their next game. Gloucestershire have done very well with the bat so far, scoring 188 against Somerset and then chasing Middlesex's 160 with ease.
Gloucestershire Predicted Playing 11
Miles Hammond, Michael Klinger (c), Ian Cockbain, Gareth Roderick (wk), Ryan Higgins, Jack Taylor, Benny Howell, Thisara Perera, Thomas Smith, David Payne, Matt Taylor
Kent Team News & Playing 11
KENT Team News
Kent Spitfires made one change in their last match against Somerset - they brought Australian fast bowler Mitchell Claydon in place of pacer Ivan Thomas who had an off day with the ball in the first game against Surrey. Claydon put up a better performance and will probably be given another game. Kent had no injury concerns at the time of writing and they are likely to come up with the same lineup from the last game.
KENT Key Players
Joe Denly has been brilliant with both bat and ball for Kent Spitfires. The opening batsman cracked a ton in the very first game against Surrey and then went on to pick up a hat-trick that derailed Surrey's innings and paved the way for his side's six-run win. Heino Kuhn has scores of 30 and an unbeaten 67 while Daniel Bell-Drummond is coming off a well-made fifty against Somerset. Carlos Brathwaite is another explosive batsman in the side and he is also a key figure in this bowling lineup. The West Indian allrounder has taken six wickets, including the four-fer in the last game. Adam Milne who notched up three wickets at London is also looking threatening and could cause a few problems for Gloucestershire.
KENT Recent Form
Kent Spitfires have made an excellent start to their Vitality Blast campaign with two wins from two games. They are second in the South Group standings with four points and are looking 'the team to beat' this season.
