Middlesex fell to their ninth defeat of the 2022 Vitality Blast on Friday evening when they lost by 2 wickets against Somerset at Lord’s. It is hard to believe that in May they won their first three games of this season’s campaign, but since then they have won only one match, against bottom of the table Kent Spitfires. Friday’s loss was in spite of some lower order hitting from Luke Hollman (41) and Chris Green (44 not-out) which took Middlesex to 160-6. Jason Beherendorff took 3-30 but could not prevent Somerset sneaking over the winning line with only two balls and two wickets remaining.
