The final of the 2020 Bangabandhu T20 Cup sees Gemcon Khulna take on Gazi Group Chattogram. The match takes place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on December 18 and the live action starts at 17:30 local time.

Despite finishing behind Chattogram in the league table, losing their last two league games, Khulna were the first team through to the final. Jahurul Islam hit 80 and Mashrafe Mortaza rolled back the years with a five-wicket haul as they beat Chattogram in the first qualifier. After posting 210/7, Khulna – who had lost both league fixtures against Chattogram – bowled the group winners out for 163 despite Mohammad Mithun’s half-century.

Chattogram, who had won seven of their eight group games and have looked the best team in this tournament for the most part, recovered in the second qualifier though. In-form Mustafizur Rahman took 3-32 as they bowled Beximco Dhaka out for 116 on their way to a seven-wicket win. Eight of Mustafizur’s 21 wickets in the tournament so far have come against Khulna incidentally.
