Galle Gladiators will take on Colombo Kings in the fourth match of the Sri Lanka Premier League. The match will be played on the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium and is scheduled to begin at 8.00 PM local time.
Even though Galle Gladiators lost their last match to Jaffna Stallions, we see them as a good side with perfect mix of youth and experience. Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Danushka Gunathilaka are one of the most talented upcoming Sri Lankan batsmen. Then there is Shahid Afridi that brings tons of experience with him. Players like Chadwick Walton and Hazratulla Zazai can be destructive on their day but are little inconsistent.
Milinda Siriwardene and Shehan Jayasuriya provide depth to the batting order. Even though we don't expect too much with the bat from Afridi, he is coming back from a brilliant 50 in the last match thus can get some handy runs in the final overs. Mohammad Amir, Shahid Afridi, Akila Dananjaya, Mohammed Shiraz and Asitha Fernando forms a decent bowling attack.
Colombo Kings on the other hand chased a mammoth 221 in their previous game and will be very high on confidence. Dinesh Chandimal was outstanding with a brilliant 80. Laurie Evans, Thikshila de Silva and Andre Russell got starts but they couldn't carry on to get a big one. Isuru Udana down the order looked very promising.
Overall, Colombo had a solid top order but the batsmen to follow are not in the best of form. They also can't throw away their wickets after getting the starts. Isuru Udana and Qais Ahmed were good with the ball but Manpreet Goni and Dushmanta Chambers were completely off the radar. We expect Colombo to tweak it's bowling order for this match. We give Colombo Kings an edge over Galle Gladiators as they've a better batting line up.
