England Women are favorites to win
After being frustrated by rain, England Women and West Indies Women will try again to get their WT20i series underway with the second game also scheduled to take place in Northampton. The match takes place on June 21 and the live action begins at 19:00 local time.

England won all three matches in the ODI series batting first and it could be worth batting first again if they win the toss in this second T20.
While the weather could be overcast and sticky, both teams will be pleased to hear there is no rain forecast for Friday – particularly not in the evening by the time game starts.
After the rain that has hit England in recent weeks – including that which washed out the first match at Northampton – there have been some sticky wickets around the country.

From the WODI series, Alex Hartley and Bryony Smith are not in the squad but Linsey Smith is. Kate Cross’ excellent bowling in the final two matches of the ODI series could see her slot into the line-up but the team is otherwise likely to be similar to that which saw off Sri Lanka most recently.
Opener Danielle Wyatt has scored 278 runs in her last nine Women’s T20 internationals, including top-scoring in the second game against Sri Lanka and hitting a half-century in the third.
Amy Jones hit 57 in the most recent game, meanwhile, and Tammy Beaumont (42*) and Nat Sciver (49*) also impressed – both going past 1,000 WT20i runs during the series. Jones also top-scored in the recent 50-over series with West Indies, scoring two half-centuries on her way to 189 runs.
Kate Cross impressed with the ball in that series, claiming 5-32 from the 15 overs she bowled across the three games. Anya Shrubsole impressed last time these two teams met in a WT20i, meanwhile.
Sophie Ecclestone is also in good wicket-taking form, after claiming five in the WODI series too.
England are in excellent WT20i form, whitewashing both India and Sri Lanka in their last two series. In India, it was a triumph of economical bowling as Katherine Brunt and Linsey Smith each took five wickets in the series to lead England to victory.
In Sri Lanka, meanwhile, it was a similar theme – the bowlers shared the wickets out and excelled to such an extent that only four England batsmen had time in the middle in the series. Of those, Tammy Beaumont and Nat Sciver were unbeaten in all three games too.

As with the one-day series, West Indies are hampered by the absence of their star player, Deandra Dottin. The all-rounder has undergone surgery on a damaged shoulder. Britney Cooper was added to the squad as her replacement with no changes between the WODI squad and the WT20i one.
While they lost all three matches in the WODI series, Hayley Matthews was in good bowling form with seven wickets in the series. She had previously shone with the bat, hitting an unbeaten century to round off the WT20i series win against Ireland.
Stafanie Taylor hit 75 in the first game of that series, meanwhile, and Chedean Nation scored an unbeaten 63 in the third match. With the ball, Afy Fletcher claimed six wickets – including 4-14 in the opening game – and followed that with six in the WODI series against England too.
West Indies may have been whitewashed in the WODI series against England, but their recent WT20i form has been good. They beat Pakistan in Karachi at the start of the year – winning the series 2-1 after a dominant performance in the first match and a super-over success in the second after both teams scored 132.
They lost the last game in the series, but bounced back against Ireland with Hayley Matthews rounding off a 3-0 series win with an unbeaten century in the third game. West Indies posted 188/1 in Dublin, and went on to win by 72 runs.

England Women have played 15 Women’s T20 internationals against West Indies but have only won six of them. Most recently, they met in the group stage of last year’s Women’s World Twenty20 in the West Indies.
England, batting first, were restricted to just 115/8 and Deandra Dottin led the reply with 46 from 52 runs. West Indies eventually wrapped up a four-wicket win in the final over despite Anya Shrubsole’s 3-10 from 3.3 overs.

England Women are comfortable favourites to beat West Indies Women with the bookmakers, at 1.14 with Bet365 and 1.09 with Betway.
Power Picks
Hayley Matthews leads the all-round charge for the West Indies, having starred with the ball in the recent WODI series and with the bat in the WT20is against Ireland.
Captain and Vice-Captain Selection
Danielle Wyatt, Amy Jones, Tammy Beaumont and Nat Sciver are all in excellent batting form for England. Hayley Matthews will likely feature heavily with bat and ball for West Indies
Verdict
Kate Cross is in good bowling form and a good option to keep your credits available to pick Hayley Matthews, Stafanie Taylor and all of England’s top four. Afy Fletcher is another potential bargain, given her recent bowling form.

England Women are favourites to beat West Indies and it is difficult to back against the hosts given their recent WT20i form.
