England Women will take on South Africa Women in the second of three WODIs. The game will be played at The County Ground, Bristol starting at 14:00 local time on Friday July 15th.

England Women can clinch the series if they win this game after coming away from Northampton with a 5 wicket win on Monday. Emma Lamb was the England batting star in the first WODI, the opener scored 102 runs from 97 balls in only her third appearance in this format. Although she did not hit any sixes, her innings included 15 fours. Earlier in the game, Nat Sciver was the leader of the bowling attack and returned figures of 4-59. She was well backed up by her opening bowling partner, Katherine Brunt, who dismissed two of the South Africa top three and finished with 3-18 from 9 overs. 

South Africa Women will be disappointed with how their batting effort petered out in the opening WODI. They looked set to post a strong score when they were 205-5 with 30 balls of their innings remaining. However, there was a lack of lower order runs and they were quickly all out for 218 with 2.2 overs left on the table. With the bat, Laura Wolvaardt continued her strong form with 43 runs from 72 balls but it was Chloe Tryon who top scored with 88 runs from 73 balls at number six. The bowlers would have liked some more runs to defend but did all bowl tidly. The most impressive bowler was Nadine de Klerk who took 2-44.

The match will be played at The County Ground, Bristol. Although a venue with short boundaries, the pitch offers plenty of pace and often assists the seam and swing bowlers.
