England vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI Prediction & Betting Tips
England will be looking to make it a clean sweep of victories in the ODI series against Sri Lanka in the final game in Bristol on Sunday. England have won both of the games at Chester-le-Street and The Oval by 5 and 8 wickets and with many overs to spare. Read on as we preview this game. The match will get underway at The Bristol County Ground at 11:00 local time.
England have shown that they are far superior to Sri Lanka in all departments in the first two games of the series. We expect Joe Root’s fine form with the bat and England’s dominance to continue into this match.
Sri Lanka have produced useful partnerships during the series but must get their top order to fire with the bat if they are to stand a chance of victory. They can win this game if they can dislodge Joe Root early into his innings.

ENG vs SL Match Toss Prediction
England have won the toss and inserted Sri Lanka in both games so far. We expect Kusal Perera to choose to bat first if he gets the option.
ENG vs SL Pitch Report
Bristol suffered 2 abandonments during the 2019 World Cup but did host England against Pakistan before the tournament in the same year. It’s a small ground so a score of 350+ should be attainable if the batsmen are disciplined.
Weather Report
Showers are forecast throughout with a high of 18 degrees in Bristol on Sunday.

England Team News & Playing 11
ENG Team News
Jason Roy returned to the side at The Oval and produced an impressive 52-ball 60 at the top of the order. He will retain his place with the only change to the side likely to be an ODI debut for left-arm fast bowler George Garton in place of Tom Curran.
ENG Key Players
- Joe Root- England’s Test captain has been in excellent form throughout 2021. He has carried the form into this ODI series and looks very comfortable against the Sri Lanka bowlers.
- Eoin Morgan- whenever a captain goes through a barren run with the bat there will be questions about his place in the side. Morgan top scored with 75* in the second ODI to silence his critics.
- Sam Curran- whatever the format, Sam Curran always seems to deliver a large contribution to the cause. He recorded his first international 5 wicket haul at The Oval.
The opposition may not be the strongest in the world but England are taking the opportunity to play themselves back into form. Tougher challenges await later in the summer.
England Predicted Playing 11
Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Joe Root, Eoin Morgan, Sam Billings, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, David Willey, George Garton, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood
Sri Lanka Team News & Playing 11
SL Team News
Sri Lanka’s problem throughout the tour has been top order runs and that was highlighted again in the second ODI with 4 of the top 5 contributing only 10 runs. If a greater base can be built at the top of the order than their powerful lower order hitters could help post a very competitive total.
SL Key Players
- Kusal Perera- although the Sri Lanka captain made a duck at The Oval, that only highlighted his importance to the side as 3 further wickets fell in the opening 7 overs.
- Dhananjaya de Silva- not renowned for his ODI batting but in a side bereft of batting experience, a man with 7 Test centuries is crucial to the batting order.
- Wanindu Hasaranga- as this tour has progressed, England’s batsmen have improved against the spinner. He was very nearly unplayable in the opening IT20 but is still picking up regular wickets.
Sri Lanka are struggling in all formats of cricket at present. A tour of England with unfamiliar conditions and a lack of tour games has not helped their form.
Sri Lanka Predicted Playing 11
Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Perera (c) (wk), Avishka Fernando, Dhananjaya de Silva, Charith Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne, Binura Fernando, Dushmantha Chameera, Asitha Fernando
