England vs Sri Lanka, 2nd ODI: Who will Win?
A six off the last ball of the game handed England a thrilling tie against Sri Lanka in the first one-day international at Nottingham. Chasing Lanka's 286, the hosts made a brilliant fight back after being reduced to 82-6. With the two points having been shared, the two teams will now move to the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham for the second ODI of the 5-match bilateral series. The match will be played on 24th of June and live action is scheduled to commence at 2 PM local time.

Venue and Toss
The first-innings scores at Edgbaston in the last six completed matches read 408, 206, 219, 129 (20-over match), 165 and 234. So aside from the 408 that England had posted against New Zealand last year, the venue has seen quite a few low scoring contests of late. Anything above 260, however, should be a tricky total to chase under the lights.
In the last 11 completed ODIs here, the side that has batted first has won 8 times. Since the ball is expected to move around a bit more later in the evening, the toss-winning team might want to bat first.
England are a strong batting unit and their chances of winning this match will increase upon winning the toss. Things, however, could get interesting if Sri Lanka win the toss.

Predicted Score: 260+
Their top three failed to click in the first match and England will need them to score on Friday. Root is going to be their key batsman at no.3 and he is expected to top-score for his side. The hosts have a great batting depth with Morgan and Buttler in the middle-order and Ali and Woakes as finishers. Three really good innings can help England score 260 and above.
England's openers will most probably face Lakmal and Mathews first up. The duo picked up two wickets each in the first match and they are likely to take early wickets for Sri Lanka. Lakmal also bagged four wickets against Ireland and he seems to be bowling in a good rhythm at the moment. Nuwan Lakmal, who also took a couple of wickets on Tuesday, will be another bowler to watch out for. If England's top four are sent back cheaply, they might find it difficult to reach 260.

If SL Bat First
Predicted Score: 250+
Openers Kusal Perera and Gunathilaka will be expected to take the Sri Lankan innings off to a flying start. Dinesh Chandimal has been their best ODI batsman and he should be backed for a top-batsman bet. Mathews and Prasanna also have had a couple of good knocks on this tour. If their top three bat well, there are a few experienced batsmen in the middle-order who can propel Sri Lanka past 250.
With two wickets apiece in the first match, Woakes and Willey could be given the new ball by England. These two fast bowlers will be skipper Morgan's best bet to inflict some early damage on the Sri Lankan innings. Liam Plunkett, who also picked up two wickets, can be difficult to score runs off at Edgbaston in the final overs. If these three English bowlers bowl well and take wickets, Sri Lanka may not be able to achieve the predicted score.
Our Prediction
Sri Lanka displayed a fantastic batting performance against Ireland and they did reasonably well against England. They've finally begun to set things right on this tour and even though they only managed to tie the first match, they will take heart from their efforts. England will certainly have the advantage of knowing the conditions at Edgbaston better, but they will also be aware of the fact that they were beaten by Sri Lanka here the last time they played against them in 2014. Also, the hosts have only one win in the last four completed matches at this ground.
Although Sri Lanka have shown a drastic improvement in their performance and nearly won the first game, we feel that England would still be hard to beat on their turf and hence, predict them to emerge victorious in the second ODI.
