England Team News & Playing 11
Team News
The England team management has confirmed that all-rounder Ben Stokes and fast bowler Chris Woakes who are both suffering from leg injuries have been ruled out of the remainder of the series. Eoin Morgan has recovered from his back spasm and was back in action in the last game, replacing batsman Sam Billings. In view of keeping the winning momentum going, the selectors may not make any change in the lineup for the fourth ODI.
Key Players
Their top five batsmen have all been amongst the runs. Centurions Jonny Bairstow (139) and Alex Hales (147) were the stars of the show at Trent Bridge while Jason Roy and Eoin Morgan cracked fifties to propel England to a record-breaking 481. Bairstow and Roy are the leading run-getters in the series and this opening pair will once again be the key for the hosts. Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali have been the pick of the bowlers so far with nine and eight wickets respectively and skipper Morgan will turn to these two spinners to derail the Australian innings. Liam Plunkett will be the team's biggest hope when it comes to pace bowling. He too has been impressive picking up seven wickets in three matches.
Recent Form
England are continuing their excellent form in the 50-overs format. They put up an incredible batting performance in the last game at Nottingham, scoring a mammoth 481 to overhaul their previous best of 444 versus Pakistan at the same venue almost two years ago. The hosts have now won six of their past eight one-day internationals, including the last three straight.
England Predicted Playing 11
Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Alex Hales, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan (c), Jos Buttler (wk), Moeen Ali, David Willey, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood
Australia Team News & Playing 11
Team News
Billy Stanlake seems to have recovered from his toe injury as he was drafted into the starting eleven for the third ODI in place of Kane Richardson. With the series now out of Australia's grasp, it remains to been seen whether they continue playing Stanlake or rest him by bringing back Richardson. Although Aaron Finch has scored just 20 runs in his last two innings batting in the middle order, he is expected to bat at the same position once again as the team is trying out a new opening combination of Travis Head and D'Arcy Short.
Key Players
D'Arcy Short has not looked quite convincing in his stroke play and has managed just 36 runs from two innings. So Australia will be relying heavily on the likes of Shaun Marsh, Travis Head and Marcus Stoinis to score runs at the top. Marsh has been the team's best batsman on this tour and he definitely holds the key to their batting. Aaron Finch is due for a big knock and the visitors will be hoping for a good performance from him. Jhye Richardson has been the standout bowler for Australia with five wickets in two games. While the others were being smacked around the park in the last match, Richardson claimed a three-wicket haul. He along with Andrew Tye who has taken four wickets in the series are the bowlers who are expected to do well in this match.
Recent Form
Australia's problems in one-day cricket do not seem to end as they succumbed to their worst ever ODI defeat in the last game. Their insipid bowling attack allowed England to rack up 481 runs before the entire team was shot out for just 239 runs in 37 overs to concede a massive 242-run victory to the hosts. The visitors have now lost eight of their last nine one-day internationals.
Australia Predicted Playing 11
Travis Head, D'Arcy Short, Shaun Marsh, Marcus Stoinis, Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell, Tim Paine (c/wk), Ashton Agar, Andrew Tye, Jhye Richardson, Billy Stanlake/Kane Richardson
