Toss Prediction
The wicket at the Rose Bowl tends to offer the best conditions for batting early on and bowlers become more effective during the latter half of the game. So this makes the toss all the more important here and whichever team wins it in this match is more likely to bat first, provided it is not too overcast and breezy.

England Team News & Playing 11
ENG Team News
England had drafted James Vince into their 14-man squad for this fourth test as cover for Jonny Bairstow who had sustained a finger injury during the third test. Now Bairstow will be playing only as a specialist batsman in this match which means that Jos Buttler will be taking up the wicket-keeping duty. Chris Woakes has been ruled out with a thigh injury and he has been replaced by allrounder Sam Curran while Ollie Pope has been dropped for veteran Moeen Ali.
ENG Key Players
England have relied mainly on their middle order to score the big runs for them so far in this series, and once again it will be up to the likes of Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler and Jonny Bairstow to make their team's scorecard look good. Buttler has scored the most runs for England in this series after Bairstow. He cracked a brilliant ton in his previous innings and even has a fifty in the only test he has played at this ground. Root's highest score in his last three innings is 19 and he could silence his critics with a solid knock here. Ben Stokes is coming off a fifty and he has been contributing with the ball as well. James Anderson is just six wickets short of equalling Glenn McGrath's record and this should motivate him even further. Stuart Broad and Sam Curran who troubled the Indian batsmen in the first two tests are the other major threats in this English bowling attack.
ENG Recent Form
England now have three wins, four losses and a draw from the eight test matches they have played so far this year. They had gone into this series on the back of an innings-victory over Pakistan at Leeds and then won the first two matches of the ongoing series to win three tests in a row. However, England's winning run came to a shuddering stop with a massive 203-run defeat in the last game at Nottingham.
England Predicted Playing 11
Alastair Cook, Keaton Jennings, Joe Root (c), Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler (wk), Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Adil Rashid, Stuart Broad, James Anderson
India Team News & Playing 11
IND Team News
Kuldeep Yadav and Murali Vijay have been omitted from the 18-man squad for the last two test matches. They have been replaced with batsman Prithvi Shaw and allrounder Hanuma Vihari, although it is unlikely that either of them would get a chance straight away. Ravichandran Ashwin's untimely injury will concern skipper Kohli and he could bring in Ravindra Jadeja if Ashwin is not deemed 100% fit ahead of this game.
IND Key Players
Virat Kohli, the world no. 1 batsman in test cricket, is topping the series runs charts with 440 runs which includes two centuries and as many half-centuries. He is looking in imperious form at the moment and will be the team's best bet with the bat. Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara scored 81 and 72 respectively in the last match. Rahane has two fifties from two innings at this venue and he is expected to play a knock of substance here. When it comes to bowlers, Ishant Sharma has been the pick of the lot with 11 wickets in three matches. Jasprit Bumrah claimed a match haul of seven wickets at Nottingham, including a fifer in the second innings and he is likely to give the English batsmen a hard time again. Hardik Pandya and Mohammed Shami too seem to be enjoying bowling in these conditions and they are the other wicket-taking options for India.
IND Recent Form
India have played seven test matches this year, all away from home expect the one against Afghanistan. Of those, they have won three and lost four. Kohli's men gave the hosts a good run for their money in the opening match of the ongoing series before being completely outplayed in the second test at the Lord's. But they have made an excellent come back by winning the third game by a morale-boosting 203 runs to leave the series wide open.
India Predicted Playing 11
Shikhar Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (c), Ajinkya Rahane, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin/Ravindra Jadeja, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah
