Toss Prediction

England Team News & Playing 11
Team News
England have retained the entire squad from their recent one-off T20 international against Australia in addition to adding batsman Dawid Malan as replacement for the injured bowler Tom Curran who has been ruled out of the opening game with a side strain. Curran, however, is expected to get fit in time for the remaining two matches of the T20I series. Jos Buttler shone with the bat after being promoted to the opening position in the last game against Australia and the team might consider keeping him at that slot, in which case Alex Hales would have to be pushed down in the batting order.
Key Players
Most of their batsmen have been in top form lately. Eoin Morgan is the leading T20I run-getter for England while Alex Hales has scored the most runs at the Old Trafford in this format after Kevin Pietersen. Jos Buttler who scored a quickfire 30-ball 61 in the last match against Australia seems to be in the best phase of his career while Jason Roy has four big knocks in his last five innings. Chris Jordan is the highest wicket-taker for England in T20Is from this squad and he is one of the key men in this bowling lineup alongside Liam Plunkett who was very impressive in the recent Australia ODI series. Adil Rashid will be the go-to man for the hosts when it comes to spin. The leg-spinner troubled the Australians and he is expected to pose a tough challenge to the Indian batsmen as well.
Recent Form
England have been blowing hot and cold of late in the 20-overs format with five wins and seven losses in their last twelve matches. After a disappointing Trans-Tasman tri-series in Australia and New Zealand in February where they lost three of their four fixtures, the hosts would have regained some confidence with a 28-run victory over Australia in their previous T20 international at Birmingham.
England Predicted Playing 11
Jason Roy, Jos Buttler (wk), Alex Hales, Eoin Morgan (c), Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali, David Willey, Liam Plunkett, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid
India Team News & Playing 11
Team News
India have been dealt a major blow ahead of the T20I series as Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the series with a fractured hand. The pace bowler had picked up the injury while bowling in the first T20 international against Ireland at Malahide. Deepak Chahar, owing to his impressive recent performance, has been included in the 16-man squad as a like-for-like replacement. Earlier, allrounder Washington Sundar had suffered an ankle injury in Malahide at a warm-up session and was ruled out of both the limited-overs series. The selectors have called up bowling allrounder Krunal Pandya for the T20I series as a replacement for Sundar.
Key Players
Shikhar Dhawan has been in brilliant form since the IPL. The opening batsman warmed-up with a knock of 74 runs in the first T20I against Ireland and he is going to be the key man for India at the top. Virat Kohli has scored the most runs for his side in this format while Suresh Raina is coming off a fifty in the previous game. MS Dhoni does not take too much time to settle in and one can expect a few big hits from him towards the end. Among the fast bowlers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be the main threat for the England batsmen. His ability to swing the ball both ways will test the hosts in seam-friendly conditions. Spin twins Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal who tormented the Irish batsmen will be skipper Kohli's trump cards in the middle overs.
Recent Form
India have shown terrific form in the shortest format for the game in recent times; they have won eight out of the ten T20 internationals played this year and are on a six-match winning streak. They played their last T20I series against Ireland as preparation for their tour of England. It was a two-game series which India won quite comfortably with a 76-run win in the first match followed by a massive 143-run win in the second.
India Predicted Playing 11
Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli (c), Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni (wk), Manish Pandey, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal
