Who will win England vs Japan, U19 World Cup 2020?
England may have failed to reach the main quarter-finals for the first time in the history of this tournament, but they will expect to reach the Plate semi-finals at least when they take on Japan at the Witrand Oval, Potchefstroon. The match, on January 27, is scheduled to start at 10:00 local time.
England suffered a heavy defeat to West Indies and then a narrow, last-ball loss to Australia in their first two matches but finished third in their group after a routine win against Nigeria last time out. A much-changed team bowled Nigeria out for 58 on the way to an eight-wicket win.
Like Nigeria, Japan are also playing at their maiden tournament and they have been bowled out for 41 and 43 in their two games so far. Their other match was cut short by the rain. While this is an important learning curve for them, there is a huge gulf in quality.

England rotated their squad last time out, and George Hill was among the players to make their mark as he took 4-12. Ben Charlesworth could return at the top of the order, however, and Jordan Clark may be back behind the stumps.
ENG Key Players
Lewis Goldsworthy: Led England’s bowling in the first two matches with 2-28 and 2-24 and he bowled 27 dot balls out of 30 last time out as he recorded figures of 0-6 from five overs.
Ben Charlesworth: Top-scored with 82 against Australia and the Gloucestershire batsman, who has played first-class cricket, could return at the top of the order this time out.

Defeats to West Indies and Australia curtailed England’s World Cup hopes before the tournament had even really got going. Ben Charlesworth (82) and Dan Mousley (51*) impressed against the latter, but England failed to defend 252/7 as they lost off the final ball.
They were always expected to beat Nigeria next up, however, and George Hill (4-12) and Hamidullah Qadri (4-24) ensured they made light work of it. They bowled Nigeria out for 58 and then won by eight wickets.
