Requiring 223 for victory, the Vipers were in trouble when Nicholas Pooran was dismissed for a five-ball duck to leave them 26-3. However, lower order runs from captain Kieron Pollard (86 runs from 38 balls) and Najibullah Zadran (30 runs from nine balls) got them close.

EMI Team Bowling

MI Emirates have a varied bowling attack with the pace and accuracy of left-arm Trent Boult alongside spinners Samit Patel and Imran Tahir. Boult was the only player to keep the runs down on this pitch in the last game but no bowler was able to do the same pick up wickets.
