Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab both ended up being on the losing side in their respective opening games. While the Daredevils were handed a nine-wicket defeat by the Kolkata Knight Riders, the Kings XI went down against the Gujarat Lions by five wickets. The two teams now prepare for a face-off in the 7th match of the Indian Premier League on April 15. The match will be played at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi and live action will begin at 8 PM local time. Neither of the teams have ever won the IPL and they will look to give their all to win it this time around.

Having been put to bat first by the KKR, the Daredevils were bundled out for a puny 98. The entire batting line-up fell like a pack of cards and none of the batsman could reach a score of 20. This is one batting performance they will quickly want to put behind them. As of their upcoming match against the KXIP, South Africa's Quinton de Kock will be the batsmen to bet on. Shreyas Iyer has had a good run in the recent Ranji Trophy games with an impressive average of around 73, and he will be the one to watch out for among the locals.
A total of 98 was always going to be hard to defend unless the DD bowlers threw in some magical spells. But it wasn't the case and KKR chased it down with ease. Though skipper Zaheer Khan was a little expensive, he will be a key bowler for the remainder of the tournament. The left-arm seamer is vastly experienced and worth wagering on. Leg-spinner Amit Mishra was the solitary wicket-taker for the Delhi Daredevils and he will be quite an effective bowler in these sub-continent conditions.

Murali Vijay top-scored with 42 runs while Manan Vohra and Marcus Stoinis made good contributions of 38 and 33 respectively to take the Kings XI to a competitive total of 161. David Miller scored 15 and the team will expect a better performance from their out-of-form skipper against the Delhi Daredevils. Though Glenn Maxwell lasted only four balls, the destructive abilities of this Aussie batsman make him a worthy bet to top-score for KXIP on Friday.
The bowlers bowled well but not well enough to hold down the Gujarat Lions. Maxwell, surprisingly, was not given a ball despite the off-spinner's vital contributions for the team in the past. Mitchell Johnson picked up a wicket and didn't give much away. The Australian fast bowler will be a safe option for a bet amidst a relatively inexperienced bowling unit. Kings XI Punjab have budding local talent in Sandeep Sharma and Pardeep Sahu who bowled well in their outing against the Gujarat Lions.
Final Prediction
Despite being the table toppers in two editions of the Indian Premier League, the Delhi Daredevils are yet to win their first IPL title. Though they have been entering with a strong squad, they haven't been able to make a mark in the tournament since the last three seasons. On the other hand, the Kings XI Punjab were the runners-up in 2014 but could not go beyond the league stage in 2015. They have a slightly better team composition than the Delhi Daredevils this year which might just give them an edge on Friday.
