Who will win Cumilla Warriors vs Khulna Tigers, BPL 2020?
Cumilla Warriors will look to continue their resurgent form as they bid to pull clear of Khulna Tigers and take a step closer to the Bangladesh Premier League 2019-20 play-offs. The two teams are due to meet twice in three days, and the first meeting takes place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on January 8. The live action starts at 13:20 local time.
Cumilla have won their last three consecutive matches, although the last two were against out-of-form Sylhet Thunder. They needed a super over to win the first of those, after initially throwing away a winning position, but Soumya Sarkar’s half-century earned victory outright last time out.
Khulna Tigers, on the other hand, have let their grip on the play-off places slip with two consecutive defeats. They still have ten points, level with Cumilla Warriors, but they have lost their momentum and were bowled out for 121 against Chattogram Challengers last time out.

Cumilla Warriors Team News & Playing 11
CUW Team News
Dawid Malan had initially returned home for personal reasons but returned to captain the team in the win against Sylhet Thunder last time out. He scored a half-century too, in place of Stiaan van Zyl. Upul Tharanga and Fardeen Hasan scored slowly up the order, however, and Malan could be promoted back to open.
CUW Key Players
Mujeeb Ur Rahman: The Afghan teenager took 4-12 in the first in against Sylhet Thunder – his best T20 figures, and his 1-23 last time out took him to 14 wickets in this year’s tournament.
Soumya Sarkar: His second unbeaten half-century of the Bangladesh Premier League tournament sealed victory against Sylhet Thunder last time out – bringing up the 50, and Cumilla’s win, with a big six. He has also bowled well, taking 11 wickets and conceding just seven from two overs last time out.
Dawid Malan: Returned to the team with a half-century last time out – patiently rebuilding the innings and laying the platform for victory. Including his unbeaten century against Rajshahi Royals, the England international has now passed 50 on four occasions and has 436 runs in total.
CUW Team Form
Back-to-back wins against Sylhet Thunder – one courtesy of a super over and, most recently thanks to Dawid Malan and Soumya Sarkar’s half-centuries – have kept Cumilla Warriors in contention for a play-off spot. Last time out, they were set 142 to win and, after struggling to 32/3 in the eighth over, Malan and Sarkar rebuilt to set up a five-wicket win with five balls to spare.

KHT Key Players
Mushfiqur Rahim: Passed 300 runs for this year’s tournament when he hit 29 last time out, though he was one of only three batsmen to reach double figures.
Rilee Rossouw: One positive from the defeat to Chattogram Challengers was the South African showing a return to form as he top-scored with 48. He started this year’s tournament well.
Robbie Frylinck: The South African all-rounder took 2-20 last time out to move to ten wickets in this year’s tournament. They were comfortably the Tigers’ best bowling figures.
KHT Team Form
Khulna Tigers lost both matches in Sylhet, suffering defeats to Dhaka Platoon and Chattogram Challengers. They pushed the former close, as Mushfiqur Rahim hit a half-century, but they could only reach 160/8 as they chased 173 to win.
Their batting let them down last time out, however – only three players (Rahim, Rilee Rossouw and Robbie Fylinck) reach double figures and they were carted for 121. Chattogram Challengers then eased to a six-wicket win.
