Comilla Victorians Team News & Playing 11
COM Team News
Comilla Victorians were unchanged for their most recent game after winning first up, but suffered a shocking top-order collapse – finding themselves 18/5 after 40 of the proscribed 120 balls had been bowled. Whether they give those batsman the chance to get back into form or ring the changes remains to be seen, but Thisara Perera and Asela Gunaratne are not yet available – both are in the Sri Lanka squad – so options are limited.
COM Key Players
On paper, Comilla Victorians have a potentially explosive top order – making their collapse against Rangpur Riders even more surprising. Opening the batting, Tamim Iqbal and Evin Lewis are both capable of big scores and plenty of big-hitting, while captain Steve Smith and Shoaib Malik offer valuable experience in the middle.
Shahid Afridi has been the only one of their big names to impress so far, however – scoring a match-winning 39 from 25 balls in the opening game against Sylhet Sixers and 25 from 18 balls last time out.
With the ball, Mohammad Saifuddin claimed 16 wickets in 13 games for Comilla last season – hence being retained – and started this year’s tournament with two in the first game.
COM Team Form
Comilla Victorians started this year’s Bangladesh Premier League with a win, beating Sylhet Sixers by four wickets with one ball to spare in a low-scoring game. Mohammad Saifuddin took 2-13 from three overs to help restrict the Sixers to 127/8 and, in reply, Shahid Afridi finished unbeaten on 39 to lead Comilla to victory.Last time out, however, an extraordinary top-order batting collapse saw them 18/5 after 40 balls and they were eventually dismissed for 63 from 16.2 overs, of which Afridi scored 25. Rangpur Riders lost just one wicket in reply (to Abu Hider) – only needing 12 of their 20 overs to reach the target.

Rajshahi Kings Team News & Playing 11
RK Team News
Fazle Mahmud and Isuru Udana came in for Christiaan Jonker and Alauddin Babu last time out as Rajshahi Kings bounced back from their heavy opening defeat. Mahmud did not bat or bowl, but Udana was their star bowler taking 3-15, including one maiden. They could be unchanged this time.
RK Key Players
Isuru Udana was brought in for the second game and made an immediate impact – continuing an excellent season in the shortest format of the game, that also included plenty of wickets in the Afghanistan Premier League. Udana took 3-15 from his four overs, including bowling one maiden.
Team-mate Qais Ahmad was another to excel at the Afghanistan Premier League and has picked up a wicket in each game so far, while Mustafizur Rahman claimed 2-18 last time out – the second wicket his 100th in full T20 cricket, in 78 games.
With the bat, meanwhile, captain Mehedi Hasan scored 51 from 45 balls in a patient and successful chase of a low score. Laurie Evans was top scorer in the T20 Blast and one of the stand-out batsmen in the Afghanistan Premier League, meanwhile – arriving in Bangladesh with plenty of good form behind him.
RK Team Form
Rajshahi Kings were crushed in their opening game, conceding 189/5 against Dhaka Dynamites before being bowled out for 106 in 18.2 overs.
They bounced back well, however – Isuru Udana claimed 3-15 against Khulna Titans last time out and captain Mehedi Hasan scored a patient half-century in the pursuit of 118 to win, a target achieved with seven balls to spare in a seven-wicket win.

COM vs RK Head to Head
Rajshahi Kings claimed their first victory in four previous attempts against Comilla Victorians when the two teams last met in the 2017 tournament – Darren Sammy bludgeoning 47 from 14 balls in a total of 185/7 which, despite scores from Tamim Iqbal (63) and Shoaib Malik (45), the Victorians fell 30 runs short of – Mohammad Sami having taken 4-9 from four overs.
Earlier in the competition, Mohammad Nabi’s 3-15 helped restrict Rajshahi Kings to 115/7 from 20 overs before Jos Buttler (50*) and Imrul Kayes (44*) shared an unbroken 97-run partnership in a nine-wicket win with 4.5 overs to spare.
Comilla Victorians vs Rajshahi Kings Betting Odds
Perhaps surprisingly, Comilla Victorians – despite their collapse last time out – have been listed as favourites for this game of BPL 2019. They are a best price of 1.73 with Betfair, while Rajshahi Kings are 2.20 (and probably worth a bet) with Bet365.
Comilla Victorians’ star names are yet to fire, even with winning the first game. Rajshahi have a strong bowling unit, led by Isuru Udana and Mustafizur Rahman who can pile further pressure on those batsmen too. Mustafizur is 3.75 to be their top bowler with Bet365, while Udana was the star man last time out.
Nevertheless, if the Comilla Victorians openers do fire, they could rack up a big total. Tamim Iqbal and Evin Lewis (both 3.75 to top score for the Victorians individually with Bet365) are 1.91 with Betfair to post the highest opening partnership.
Comilla Victorians vs Rajshahi Kings Prediction
Rajshahi Kings’ bowlers impressed last time out, while Comilla Victorians’ batsmen failed miserably. There is not a positive combination for Steve Smith’s side.
Final Verdict: Back Rajshahi Kings to beat Comilla Victorians at 2.20 with Bet365, 2.10 at Betfair and 2.05 with Betway.
