Brisbane Heat women vs Perth Scorchers women, WBBL 2020
Brisbane Heat women will take on Perth Scorchers women in the 45thst game of the women’s Big Bash League. The match will be played on the Hurstville Oval, Sydney and is scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM local time.
What a turnaround it has been for the defending champions Brisbane Heat. They were down and out at the halfway mark but 4 back to back wins have pushed them to the second spot in the points table. However, we still feel Brisbane Heat has not been at their best yet. There are too many loop holes in their batting department which they need to rectify before the match. The promotion of Grace Harris at the top has been a stellar move but she’s been very inconsistent. Same can be said about other batsmen. Jess Jonassen played a decent knock in the last game and will be hoping for another impactful knock for his team. Heat need to get runs from the top order so that players like Laura Harris and Amelia Kerr can finish the inning on a high. Brisbane Heat’s bowling has been pretty steady and has played a crucial part in their change in fortunes. Nicola Hancock, Delissa Kimmince, Jess Jonassen, Amelia Kerr, Grace Harris and Prestwidge form a solid bowling attack.
Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney have been magnificent in the tournament. Beth Mooney was once again at the top of her game and scored a classy knock of 45 against Stars. Scorchers will however need some runs from their middle order as they couldn’t rely solely on Beth Mooney. Sarah Glenn, Piepa Cleary, Nicole Bolton, Heather Graham have been terrific with the ball. Overall, both teams have some issues to deal with but we think Perth Scorchers have better chances to win.
