Bohemian CC and Brno Rangers both started with a defeat to Prague Spartans Vanguards but bounced back by beating Prague Barbarians Vandals. Bohemian, chasing 132 to win, could only reach 126/5 in their first match against the Vanguards. Against the Vandals, however, Zahid Mahmood’s 23 was key as they chased 81 to win by two wickets off the final ball.
Brno Rangers, meanwhile, could only reach 98/7 in reply to 105/2 against the Vanguards – Czech international wicket-keeper Ushan Gunathilake top-scoring with 31 in the Rangers’ innings. They too bounced back against the Vandals, however. Rahat Ali (3-14) and Somsuvro Basu (3-10) as they restricted them to 98/8 before claiming a seven-wicket win off the final ball.
