Skipper cum opener Alastair Cook has an unbeaten century against Bangladesh at this ground, and though he could manage only 16 in the first game, he will be a key batsman for England in this match. Joe Root is their most consistent run-scorer and is another vital cog at the top. Bairstow contributed in both the innings and the team will want him to continue his good batting form if they are to reach the predicted score.

Shakib Al Hasan, Mehedi Hasan and Taijul Islam are the ones from the Bangladeshi bowling attack who could create problems for the English batsmen. Shakib has taken the most wickets in tests for his side at this ground and he also claimed seven wickets in the first test. Mehedi ran through the English batting lineup picking up six scalps in the first innings while Taijul chipped in with two wickets in each innings. England could be restricted to below 300 if Shakib and the others take the crucial wickets of Cook and Root at the start.

Bangladesh gave England a good run for their money and that's why they have come down from 8.4 to 6.6 at betfair. bet365 however has them unchanged at 7.00. England are more or less the same at 1.79 and 1.66 respectively.
An England defeat is still far from likely. But if you feel Bangladesh can last the five days, betting on a draw at 3.15 with betfair and 3.25 with bet365 could give you profitable returns.

Our Prediction

Bangladesh have a dismal record in tests at the Shere Bangla. Of the 14 matches they have played here, they have lost 10, drawn 3 and have won only 1. That solitary win came in 2014 against Zimbabwe. But one thing worth mentioning is that they also had a poor record at Chittagong and in spite of this, they were able to give England a good scare.

England have played only one test match at this venue and that was against the hosts in 2010. The tourists cruised to a comfortable nine-wicket win in that match. Only three of the fourteen games here have ended in a draw and the rest have all produced results. So a draw becomes the least likely outcome for this match.

Bangladesh will take heart from their effort in the first test and will be playing at Dhaka with a lot more self-belief. We, however, predict England to win the second test and complete a 2-0 whitewash.
