After both getting injured during the Asia Cup, Bangladesh will be without established stars Shakib-al-Hasan and Tamim Iqbal, while Soumya Sarkar and Mosaddek Hossain have not been selected in the 15-man squad. It hands opportunities to Mohammad Saifuddin and Fazle Mahmud.

Mushfiqur Rahim hit 302 runs in five matches during the Asia Cup, including one knock of 144. He was one of two Bangladeshi centurions in the tournament, with Liton Das hitting his maiden ODI hundred in the final against India.
With the ball, Mustafizur Rahman claimed ten wickets in five matches, while captain Mashrafe Mortaza took six – the same as Rubel Hossain. All three will continue in the bowling attack against Zimbabwe.

Bangladesh geared up for the Asia Cup by beating West Indies 2-1 in their most recent bilateral ODI series. Tamim Iqbal’s unbeaten 130 and a 207-run second-wicket partnership with Shakib-al-Hasan (97) led them t o a 48-run win in the first match – Mashrafe Mortaza claiming 4-37 – before a three-run loss in the next match. Tamim hit another century in the final ODI, however, and Mahmudullah an unbeaten 67 as they posted 301/6, and successfully defended it to win by 18 runs and claim the series.
In the Asia Cup, Bangladesh qualified for the final despite defeats to Afghanistan and India along the way – beating Sri Lanka, Afghanistan in their second game, and then Pakistan to book their place in the final. There they faced India again, where a thrilling match ensued. Liton Das’ maiden ODI century ultimately proved in vain as India chased 223 to win by three wickets off the final ball of the match.

Zimbabwe endured a miserable time in their tur of South Africa, but there were a few individual highlights. Brendan Taylor now has 6,000 runs in ODIs, while Sean Williams hit 69 from 79 balls in the final ODI to mark some sort of return to form. Williams also topped scored with 41 from 28 balls in the second T20 international.
Tendai Chatara took 2-12 from six overs and 3-42 from nine overs in the first two ODIs with the ball, meanwhile.
Solomon Mire was short of form in that series, but he did hit scores of 94 and 63 in the T20 international tri-series against Australia and Pakistan in the summer.
ZIM Team Form
Zimbabwe have not won an ODI since failing to qualify for the World Cup in the qualifier they themselves hosted. They tied with Scotland and beat Ireland but then lost to West Indies by four wickets and fell three runs short of beating UAE as they failed to finish in the top two.
Since then, however, they have been blown away. They were bowled out for 107, 194, 67 and 155 in their first four ODIs against Pakistan, and even 233/4 was 131 runs short in the final match in the series. Against South Africa, meanwhile, they were dismissed for 117 in the first match to lose by five wickets, just 78 in the second match and then 228 in a four-wicket defeat in their most recent ODI.
