Bangladesh have named a 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 international series against the West Indies. While batsman Mohammad Mithun and pace bowling all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin have been included in the team, Mosaddek Hossain, Abu Jayed and Sabbir Rahman, who is currently serving a six-month suspension, could not find a place in the squad. Meanwhile, captain Shakib Al Hasan got hit on his toe during a practice session on the eve of the first T20I, but nothing seems serious and the all-rounder is expected to be fit for this game.

Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan will be the key figures in this Bangladeshi batting line-up. Tamim is the team's leading run-getter in T20Is with 1528 runs followed by Shakib with 1368 runs. The latter topped the runs charts in the previous series against the Windies and he along with Mushfiqur, who has four half-centuries in the format, will be expected to score big. Shakib has taken the most wickets in T20Is for his side and he will also be a major threat with the ball. Mustafizur Rahman was the best bowler in the last series against the West Indies with eight wickets in three matches and he will be backed by his team to pick wickets upfront. Nazmul Islam too could be handy here with his left-arm spin.

Bangladesh have played 13 T20 internationals this year out of which they have won four and lost the rest. They played their last T20I series against the Windies on their tour of the West Indies and the USA in August. It was a three-match series which Bangladesh won 2-1. Opening batsman Evin Lewis, who withdrew himself from the previous tour of India due to personal reasons, has returned to the West Indies T20I set-up. Pace bowlers Sheldon Cottrell and Kesrick Williams are the other two players who have returned to the side. The visitors' 15-man T20I squad, however, does not feature Kieron Pollard, Obed McCoy, Ashley Nurse and Andre Russell who are all currently recovering from their respective injuries. The Windies have retained uncapped batsman Sherfane Rutherford who was also part of the team that toured India.

In terms of batting, the onus will be on the likes of Evin Lewis, Shai Hope and Darren Bravo to score the big runs for the West Indies at the top of the order. Lewis has an impressive strike-rate of 157.44 in T20Is while Bravo was their leading run-scorer in the last series versus India. Hope has shown tremendous form in the preceding ODI series and he will be the team's biggest hope with the bat. Carlos Brathwaite, Kesrick Williams and Oshane Thomas are the ones to watch out for in this West Indian bowling attack. Thomas bowled well in the ODIs and Bangladesh will not be taking him lightly. Brathwaite is a seasoned campaigner and it will be mainly up to him to build pressure on the hosts by keeping things tight. Williams has 30 wickets in 18 T20Is - the most by any bowler for the Windies from this current squad - and the pacer will be expected to do some early damage with new ball.

West Indies have not been doing well in the shortest version of the game. They have won just two out of the eleven completed T20 internationals they have played since the start of this year. Their most recent T20 assignment came last month against India in India where they ended up losing all the three games in the series.
