Bangladesh are favorites to win
After back-to-back defeats, Bangladesh will look to bounce back into the tournament when they go up against Sri Lanka on June 11. The 16th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will be played at the County Ground in Bristol. Live telecast is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM local time.

Intermittent showers have been forecast for Tuesday. So there is a possibility of a shortened game and that generally tends to favor the side batting second. Also since four of the last six completed ODIs at this ground have been won by the side batting second, the toss-winning skipper will probably prefer to chase here.

Bangladesh are fretting over the fitness of their ace allrounder Shakib Al Hasan who is a doubtful starter for this game due to a thigh strain he sustained in the last match against England. Liton Das could be brought into the line-up if Shakib is unavailable. However, if Shakib is declared fit enough to play, Bangladesh are expected to go in with an unchanged playing eleven. In that case, Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar will continue to open the batting with Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim to bat at numbers three and four respectively. Shakib opened the bowling in the last match against England and it will be interesting to see whether he will be given the new ball again.
Shakib Al Hasan will be the key man for Bangladesh with both bat and ball if he plays this match. With a century and two fifties in three matches, he is leading the CWC 2019 runs charts with 260 runs. He has also snared three wickets at a pretty good economy of 5.60. Mushfiqur Rahim has also been among the runs. The wicketkeeper smashed 78 against South Africa and is coming off an impressive 44 against England. Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah are the other big guns in this batting unit.
Mohammad Saifuddin has been the pick of the Bangladeshi bowlers so far this World Cup with six wickets. The pacer took a couple last time against England and he will have to shoulder the responsibility of providing the early breakthroughs with skipper Mashrafe Mortaza. Mehidy Hasan has taken five wickets and has been the least expensive of all the bowlers in the side at an economy of 5.26. Mustafizur Rahman is another one in this bowling group who can trouble the Sri Lankan batsmen with his deceptive pace variations.
Bangladesh now have five wins and as many losses from the ten one-day internationals they have played so far this year. They are currently positioned eighth on the CWC 2019 points table with one win and two defeats from their first three league matches. They began their campaign in an emphatic fashion, stunning South Africa by 21 runs in their opening fixture at London before suffering two consecutive defeats - against New Zealand at the same venue and then against hosts England at Cardiff by a huge margin of 106 runs.

Sri Lanka have been hit by an injury blow as Nuwan Pradeep has been ruled out of this match with a dislocated finger. The fast bowler sustained the injury while bowling in the nets during a practice session and he could be replaced by Jeevan Mendis, the leg-spinner who had made way for Pradeep in the last week's match against Afghanistan. Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Perera stitched a healthy opening partnership against Afghanistan and the two are likely to open the batting once again with Lahiru Thirimanne pushed down to number three.
The opening pair of Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Perera will hold the key to Sri Lanka's batting. Both batsmen have had a good hit in this World Cup - Karunaratne struck an unbeaten fifty against New Zealand while Perera scored 78 against Afghanistan. The team's batting also relies heavily on Kusal Mendis and Angelo Mathews. The former has managed just two runs so far while the latter has returned two ducks in as many innings. Sri Lanka will dearly need these two to step up and score some runs.
With Nuwan Pradeep unfit for this game, Sri Lanka's bowling will depend primarily on the likes of Lasith Malinga, Suranga Lakmal and Thisara Perera. Malinga and Lakmal will probably start the proceedings with the new ball and the onus will be on them to dent Bangladesh with a few early strikes. Malinga showed promising signs last time with a three-wicket haul, and with conditions expected to be overcast, the veteran will pose a major threat to the batsmen.
Sri Lanka have played eleven completed one-day internationals this year out of which they have won just two and lost the rest. They now have three points from the three matches they have played in the ongoing World Cup and are currently placed fifth in the league standings. After being blown away by New Zealand in their campaign opener at Cardiff, Sri Lanka outplayed Afghanistan in a rain-curtailed encounter at the same ground. Their previous match against Pakistan at Bristol, which is the venue for this game as well, had to be called-off due to rain without a ball bowled.

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have played 43 completed one-day internationals against each other with the latter leading the scoreline 36-7.
Sri Lanka have beaten Bangladesh eight times in the last eleven completed ODI meetings. Bangladesh, however, registered a comprehensive 137-run victory in their most recent 50-over encounter against Sri Lanka in last year's Asia Cup at Dubai.
The two countries have never faced each other before at the Bristol County Ground in the game’s fifty-over format.

Bangladesh, despite facing defeats in their last two matches, are favorites amongst the bookmakers to win this match. While Betrally is offering 1.68 on them, Bet365 and Betway both have them priced at 1.66. Sri Lanka are the underdogs for this match at 2.25 with Betway and 2.20 with Bet365 and Betrally.
Both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka find themselves in a precarious position at the moment and both will look to give their all to improve their positions on the points table. Sri Lanka certainly have the upper hand in terms of head-to-head record in the format but it is Bangladesh who have the edge when it comes to recent performances. The Lankans have struggled with the bat in these conditions until now and the loss of Nuwan Pradeep will further weaken their bowling attack. They do have plenty of quality players in the side but they have not been able to click together as a unit. Bangladesh, on the other hand, have looked better in both batting and bowling departments which is why we are backing them to win this match.
The weather forecast does not look too good and there is a good chance that the match could get shortened or even washed out.
