Our Pick Australia are favorites to win
India have shown the spine of mettle in this series. Throughout the tour, every-time they had their back against the wall, they somehow find a way to bounce back.
With Australia and India winning 1 Test each and the third Test ending in a draw, we’re now into the final match of the series that’ll decide the winner of the series.
Read our preview as Australia host India in the final Test of the series at the Gabba. The match is scheduled to get underway on 15th January at 10:00 PM local time.
Australia will be disappointed that even after dominating most of the Sydney Test, they failed to pick up a victory. But credit for the draw must also be given to the Indian batsmen for the character they showed in the second inning.
We’re now at Brisbane which a very happy hunting ground for Australia. They have one of the best pace attacks in the world and the pitch at Gabba make them look more lethal.
Australia will be relieved to see Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne back in form. However, the form of other batsmen will again be a cause of concern.
For India, as many as 9 Indian players have been ruled out due to injury on this tour. Ravindra Jadeja, Hanuma Vihari and Jasprit Bumrah are the latest causalities. There are few doubts about the participation of Ravi Ashwin as well.
Mohammed Siraj, who’s just a couple of Tests old, will be leading India’s bowling attack in the final Test that tells that they’re in big problem.
Navdeep Saini was wayward in the second Test and one of T Natarajan or Shardul Thakur will be India’s third pacer. To fair, this bowling attack looks very weak. Ravi Ashwin will also be less effective on the Gabba.
From the batsmen perspective, Shubhman Gill, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant batted well in the second innings of the Sydney Test. They once again will be responsible for getting India to a big score.
Overall, injuries have dented India’s chances badly and looking at their bowling lineup we think Australia are massive favourites here.

Will Pucovski has been ruled out of the final Test and Marcus Harris will replace him as an opener at Gabba.
Australia have been good in the series but their is plenty of scope for improvement. Their batting looks too much dependent on Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne
David Warner, Marcus Harris, Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith, Matthew Wade, Cameron Green, Tim Paine (c & wk), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood
India will have to make some forced changes into their playing XI. Hanuma Vihari, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah are ruled out of the final test. Kuldeep Yadav, Shardul Thakur and Mayank Agarwal are most probable replacements.
After being blown away in the Adelaide Test, India bounced back in style to beat the hosts at Melbourne and secured a famous draw in Sydney.
Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (c), Mayank Agarwal, Rishabh Pant (wk), Kuldeep Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Navdeep Saini

India’s chances have been hugely dented by the injuries. They do have a decent batting line up but their bowling looks too weak to challenge Australia. We’d stick with Australia as the winner of this match.
Wicket-keeper
Rishabh Pant at 8.5 is a solid pick. Pant played a blistering knock of 97 in the second inning and set India up for a famous win. Had he played a little longer, India might have won the match.
Batsmen
Steve Smith at 10.0 , Marnus Labuschagne at 9.0, Cheteshwar Pujara at 9.5 and Rohit Sharma at 9.0 will form a strong batting order. Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschangne and Cheteshwar Pujara batted brilliantly in both innings of the previous Test while Rohit Sharma fetched himself a 50 in the second inning.
All-rounders
Ravi Ashwin at 9.5 and Chris Green at 8.0 are the all rounders of our team. Both of them had a decent game at Sydney.
Bowlers
Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood at 9.0 and Mohammed Siraj at 8.0 form a quality pace attack. The Australian trip will be lethal on this Gabba wicket while Siraj is the best bet to pick wickets for India
Captain/Vice-captain
Steve Smith is our preferred choice for captain while Cheteshwar Pujara can be backed as his deputy.
