AFG vs ZIM 1st Test Prediction & Betting Tips
Afghanistan will take on Zimbabwe in the first match of the two Test series. The match will be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium and is set to get underway at 10:00 AM local time.
Both teams haven’t played a test for more than a year and getting used to the format won’t be that easy. In these conditions, Afghanistan will start as favourites but the road to victory will not be easy. Afghanistan is going in with a pretty inexperienced side and has named as many as 8 uncapped players. They have also excluded Mujeeb ur Rahman from the squad while Rashid Khan’s participation is also in doubt.
They’ll rely a lot on Rahmat Shah, who was the star of Afghanistan win over Ireland and Bangladesh in 2019. Other players like Javed Ahmadi, Asghar Afghan, Hashmatullah Shahidi also need to come good. The bowling will depend on Rashid Khan but in case he’s not available, Afghanistan will rely on Yamin and Shiraz.
Zimbabwe is missing some of their key players which further cut short their chance of upsetting Afghanistan in the series. Brendan Taylor and Craig Ervine, the two main pillars of Zimbabwe batting are out due to illness, which makes the batting very vulnerable. A lot will depend on Sean Williams and Sikander Raza in the batting department. On the bowling front, Zimbabwe will rely on Donald Tiripano, Victor Nyauchi, Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams.
Through both teams are pretty inexperienced, Afghanistan has a stronger batting line up and they are used to playing in these conditions. They’re the favourites to win the match
