The Final of the ICC T20 World Cup will be played between New Zealand and Australia.
After 44 matches, the T20 World Cup 2021 has finally come down to the final encounter and the finalists are so-called ‘underdogs’ of the tournament New Zealand and Australia as Pakistan and England were expected to face each other in the final, seeing their dominating performances through the Super-12 stage.
Both the teams, New Zealand and Australia have earned this top spot by giving mind blowing performances in the semifinals. New Zealand chased 167 runs against England while Australia chased 177 to kick Pakistan out of the tournament.
When Australia started off the tournament, they didn’t look in great form but as they proceeded, the players started getting in form and the result was the blistering semifinal. Warner, Stoinis and Wade played quality T20 cricket under immense pressure and handed Australia their 2nd entry to the final after T20 World Cup 2010.
On the other hand, New Zealand are into their first ever T20 World Cup final which is yet another huge achievement in their pocket after they played the final of the ICC World Cup 2019 and won the World Test Championship this year against India. New Zealand is currently the most versatile team and they are definitely looking at their first T20 World Cup trophy.
As both the teams have never won a T20 World Cup before, it is definitely going to be an exciting and final worthy contest.
