Aussie pacer Nathan Ellis has signed up with The Hundred franchise London Spirit for the upcoming 2nd season which is set to kick-off on 3rd August. Ellis is trying his best to make a spot for himself in the upcoming T20 World Cup which will take place in Australia, who are also the current champions after winning the title last year.

He was part of Australia’s reserve squad in the last T20 World Cup. In this year’s T20 Blast, Ellis was in the Hampshire squad which lifted the trophy this year with the help of Ellis’ last over thriller. Ellis picked 15 wickets at an impressive economy of 6.87 in this year’s T20 Blast.

In the international circuit, Nathan Ellis has played 3 T20Is so far in which he has picked 9 wickets with an economy of 6.50.

Ellis will replace the injured Aussie fast bowler Riley Meredith in the London Spirit squad. Ellis has expressed his desire to play as much white-ball cricket as possible before the T20 World Cup and put his name out there for the selectors to see. He said, “ It's all I want to do: imagine playing a home T20 World Cup in front of your friends and family.”

Ellis will be along with his several other Hampshire teammates at the Spirit camp, which includes - Liam Dawson, Brad Wheal, Chris Wood and Aussie cricketer Ben McDermott. Along with McDermott and Nathan Ellis, star Aussie all-rounder Glenn Maxwell will also be a part of the Spirit squad.

London Spirit ended their first season on a disappointing note being at the bottom of the points table, therefore, they will want to turn things around this season for which they have beefed up their squad.
