Since its inception back in 2008, the Indian Premier League has seen a myriad of incredible performances from some of the biggest names in international cricket.

Big hitting and incredible striking is par for the course every season in the IPL, but few have enjoyed the impact Jos Buttler has in 2022.

The Englishman first took part in the competition back in 2016, where he first joined the Mumbai Indians, becoming a key part of their squad as they went on to lift the trophy in 2017.

His impact for his country continued to grow too in that period, with England blowing away all before them in limited overs cricket, in a sustained spell of dominance that saw Buttler win the ICC World Cup in 2019.

In 2018, Buttler made the big money move to the Rajasthan Royals, a move that has seen his own personal form develop exponentially and whilst he hasn’t been able to life the IPL trophy with the Royals, the man from Somerset has transitioned into one of the most destructive players in the competition.

At the top of the order, there are very few batters in world cricket that possess the combination of batting power and finesse that Butter does, and he has demonstrated all of his skills expertly in 2022.

With just 7 games played this season by the Royals, Buttler has scored an incredible 491 runs, at an average of 81.83* and a strike rate of over 150.

Buttler has not only stolen the headlines for his incredible form this season but his ability to play game-changing knocks and with the Englishman in such ominous form, the Royals look to have an excellent shot at going all the way in the IPL this season.

Jos Buttler’s IPL Centuries 2022:

Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians – April 2nd

Jos Buttler: 100

Playing against a former side can often be somewhat of a poisoned chalice, particularly in the world of cricket, where players can often use past tricks to outdo their former teammates.

Buttler dispelled this theory however, with a blistering display of hitting – notching his 100 off just 68 balls, in an innings that included 11 x 4’s and 5 x 6’s.

Indian seamer Jasprit Bumrah eventually got the better of Buttler, bowling him the ball after he reached three figures, but the tone was set for the season ahead for Buttler and the Royals, who went on to win the game by 23 runs.

Rajasthan Royals vs Kolkata Knight Riders – April 18th

Jos Buttler: 103

As if to underline his incredible form and his importance to the Royals, Buttler managed scores of 70, 13 and 54 in the matches in between his next ton and a return to top form for the Englishman, meant another win for the Rajasthan Royals.

Opening the batting once more, Buttler devoured the Kolkata attack, smashing 103 from 61 deliveries – notching 14 boundaries in the process.

The experienced Kolkata attack simply had no answer as Pat Cummins, Sunil Narine and Andre Russell all went the distance and Rajasthan just about got over the line, winning by 7 runs.

Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Capitals – April 22nd

Jos Buttler: 116

In his most recent display of destruction, Buttler once again continued his blistering form with his highest score of the campaign – 116 against the Delhi Capitals.

Another experienced attack went the distance as Buttler notched his incredible knock off just 65 deliveries, including 9 fours and 9 sixes, as the Royals registered 222/2 from their 20 overs.

Their bowlers were once again able to defend their total, as they edged past the Capitals by 15 runs to stay in third place in the IPL table
