IPL 2023 - GT vs CSK Predicted Playing 11 team. Check Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings Playing XI and Player Stats
IPL 2023 is set to begin on the 31st March with the 1st match is set to take place between current champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
With some new recruits on both sides after the December auction, we might see some changes in the Playing 11 for both sides.
Gujarat Titans
- Top Order: Gujarat brought in Kane Williamson at base price and he is expected to take away the top-order woes of the team. Shubman Gill, Wriddhiman Saha and Kane Williamson could make up a strong top order line-up. Williamson and Gill are currently in good form as witnessed in the international circuit.
- Middle Order: The middle-order does not look much stable for the GT side till David Miller joins the side. Players like Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan have won some critical matches for the team but their batting style is do or die. Hardik Pandya’s form with the bat will be important to give stability to this middle order.
- Lower Order: Two new players Shivam Mavi and Joshua Little are expected to be part of the Playing 11 from the first match. Mavi has been quite impressive in the IPL before while Joshua Little is a key pacer for the Ireland T20I team. Mohammad Shami will lead the pace attack once again for the GT team. He started off the 2022 IPL season with a wicket in the first ball of the first match.

Chennai Super Kings
- Top Order: Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Moeen Ali will go in the top order for the CSK team. Gaikwad has cemented his place at the opening pair for the team while Conway is almost there. All-rounder Moeen Ali is expected to come 1st down at 3rd number. He can do some power-hitting in the powerplay as well.
- Middle Order: Ben Stokes will add some strength to the middle-order which struggled in the last season. Jadeja couldn’t contribute much as well in the previous season due to poor form but he looks in confident form right now.
- Lower Order: Lower order of CSK is quite weak currently with Mukesh Choudhary and Pathirana at the end but Deepak Chahar can be a handy batter as we have seen him hitting some shots previously, at the international level.
