The 3rd match of the IPL 2022 will take place between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians on 27th March, 2022.
IPL 2022 will witness a new look of the squads after a long list of signings in the mega auction.
Mumbai Indians released Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Rahul Chahar, Quinton de Kock who were an important part of their squad to bring the ultimate success with 5 title wins. It will be exciting to see how they perform with their new players.
New players Tilak Varma and Ramandeep Singh are expected to be a part of Playing 11 for this match while Singaporean cricketer Tim David will start his stint with the franchise for the first time.
Mumbai Indians made the most expensive bid in the auction buying Ishan Kishan for INR 15.25 crore.
Rohit Sharma has been a mainstay of the IPL since making his first appearance way back in the inaugural competition in 2008. Across 14 seasons, he has scored 5611 runs and hit 718 boundaries along the way. His only IPL century came in 2012.
Although still only 23, this will be Ishan Kishan seventh IPL season. He struggled in 2019, scoring only 101 runs across seven games but bounced back with 516 at an average of 57.33 in 2020. He is a player for the future and the present and made his India debut in March 2021.
There are not many sporting superstars to come out of Singapore and least of all in cricket. However, Tim David has made a name for himself in the shortest formats across the globe. He has impressed in the PSL and BBL previously and is expected to be selected by Australia over the coming months.
Jasprit Bumrah is one of the best bowlers in the world across all formats and will be appearing in the IPL for his tenth successive season. His best figures in the tournament came during the title winning 2020 season when he took 4-14 from 4 overs against Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1.
Tymal Mills burst onto the domestic scene in England in 2011 and immediately caught the eye with his pace and hostility. A string of injuries hampered his progress and he is now a short-format only player. He has performed to a high level in all of the top T20 leagues across the globe.
Riley Meredith is a right arm pace bowler who picked up four wickets from five appearances for Punjab Kings during last year’s tournament. He has only been capped six times by Australia but will provide plenty of firepower for Mumbai Indians whenever he has the ball in hand.

Delhi Capitals will be led by Rishabh Pant again as a full time captain now. They have released the former skipper, Shreyas Iyer after last season.
They have some pretty good signings this year like Shardul Thakur, Rovman Powell and Chetan Sakariya.
Rishabh Pant made his IPL debut in 2016 and has hit at least one half-century in every season since. His best campaign was in 2018 when he struck a century alongside five 50s and averaged 52.61. Pant’s highest IPL score of 128 not out came from 63 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad in May 2018.
Rovman Powell has experienced the IPL before, as a squad member of Kolkata Knight Riders in 2017, but this will be his first taste of the action. He has had a strong 6 months and starred as a middle-order big hitter for Northern Warriors in the Abu Dhabi T10. Powell averaged 96.00 in that tournament and followed up with his first IT20 century in January.
Tim Seifert has played one game in the IPL previously, making 2 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2021. He is a consistently aggressive T20 player with an IT20 highest score of 84 not-out against Pakistan in Hamilton in December 2020.
Shardul Thakur is known as ‘Lord’ and possesses excellent ability with the ball in hand. After four consecutive seasons, and two IPL titles, with Chennai Super Kings, Thakur will be making his debut for Delhi Capitals in this game. He has taken 31 wickets at an average of 25.87 over the last two seasons.
Axar Patel has a very consistent IPL record and picked up 15 wickets at an average of 20.40 across the 2021 IPL. The spinner represented Punjab Kings in his first IPL season before signing for Delhi Capitals in 2018 where he has remained ever since.
Chetan Sakariya is a left-arm pace bowler who impressed in his debut season in the tournament last year. Representing Rajasthan Royals, who had a disappointing campaign and regularly struggled with the bat, Sakariya picked up 14 wickets including 3-31 on his IPL debut.
