Both teams made it to the playoffs in the last season. Rockets lost in the Eliminator against the winners Southern Braves. Overall, they had a decent tournament and won five out of eight games in the group stage. They have good players in the team like Alex Hales, Dawid Malan, Samit Patel, and Rashid Khan who can be match winners on their day.
Birmingham Phoenix reached the finals but lost to Southern Braves in the summit clash. They had a fabulous run in the league stage and won six of the eight games. Players like Matthew Wade, Liam Livingstone, and Moeen Ali make them a formidable unit.
The Nottingham wicket is known to assist the pacers, but the format of the wicket doesn’t allow bowler-friendly wickets. The wicket should be a good one to bat.
The weather looks good as there is only 10 per cent chance of rain. The temperature will dip down to 11 degrees in the evening which can be chilly and slightly uncomfortable for the players.

Alex Hales is a big name in T20 cricket and shorter formats. On his day, he can be absolutely deadly. Hales has also been left out of the ENG squad and here is an opportunity for him to get back in contention.
Livingstone is one of the most destructive batters going around. When on song, there is no ground big enough which he can’t clear. He is someone who can win matches from the most hopeless situations. His bowling is an added advantage.
He is a good all-rounder who can add a lot of value to the team. Sams is an opening bowler while he can tonk the ball big coming down the order. He can also be promoted up the order as a pinch hitter.
Well, there is not a lot to be said about this great spinner from Afghanistan. Rashid has dominated shorter formats ever since he made his debut and he will be the main weapon for Trent Rockets in the tournament.
The pacer has developed a very good cutter of late and has a few more variations up his sleeves that make him a very good pick, as bowlers with variations are likely to succeed in the tournament.
