Both Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders had a poor outing last season as they failed to reach the playoffs. Kolkata has tasted IPL success before, having won the trophy twice but Punjab is yet to win the title even once and it’s big time that they step up and get their hands on the trophy.

Both teams are very strong on paper but have been left reeling with injuries to key players. Jonny Bairstow for PBKS and Shreyas Iyer for KKR have been ruled out of the tournament. For Punjab, Liam Livingstone is also set to miss the first game along with Kagiso Rabada. Still, both teams are even and we should have a good game on our hands.
