England’s captain fired when it mattered the most for the team. Buttler scored a brilliant 80 off 49 balls against India in the semifinal to send England into the final. Buttler is known to deliver in big games and he will be key for England’s chances in the final.
Alex Hales has been superb for England in the tournament. He was in fine form in the semifinal as well and whacked 86 off 47, stitching an unbeaten partnership of 170 with Buttler, that helped England thrash India by 10 wickets. Hales will be looking to continue his form and lead his team to their second T20 World Cup win.
Babar returned to form with a solid half-century against New Zealand in the semifinal. Babar scored 53 off 42 balls to help Pakistan beat the Kiwis in a one-sided affair. In the final, Pakistan will need their ace batter to live up to the expectations.
Shaheen Afridi has picked up some great momentum ahead of the final against England. Afridi took 4 wickets against Bangladesh and then backed his performance with an outstanding spell of 2-24 against New Zealand. He will be key for Pakistan in the final.
It’s not certain if Mark Wood will return to playing 11 for the final. If he does not play, Woakes will be England’s lead pacer and a lot will be expected of him in the summit clash.
