Oval Invincible women are the defending champions. They defeated Southern Brave women in the final last year by 48 runs. Having posted 121 in 100 balls, the team bowled out Southern Braves for 73 runs. Despite winning the final, Invincibles didn’t have a particularly great tournament. In the league stage, they played eight games and won just 4. They defeated Birmingham Phoenix women in the Eliminator to reach the final.
Meanwhile, Northern Superchargers too had an ordinary tournament and won just 3 out of the eight games, thus failing to reach the playoffs.
The surface will be a good one to bat. The new ball can swing for 1-2 overs, but the swing should fade out soon, making it very easy for the batters to get quick runs. However, quality bowlers are always a challenge to face irrespective of the surface.
The weather will be clear and there is no threat of rain. The wind will blow at a speed of 18kmph while the temperature will range between 32 to 17 degrees.
