Both the teams are fighting hard for a place in the playoffs and the coming game might well give an idea of who between the two teams might make it through. While except for Welsh Fire and Southern Brave, all other teams can still qualify, keeping the net run rate and other equations in mind, we feel only one between the two teams will qualify, which makes this match very important. If both the teams have to qualify, Manchester Originals will have to lose their remaining games.
Anyways, both teams have played five games and have won three. Oval lost their last game to Trent Rockets by 25 runs as they failed to chase 181, while Birmingham Phoenix lost to Northern Superchargers by 32 runs as they faltered in the chase of 169
The wickets have been very good for batting, and we have seen some big scores being made. There have been low-scoring games as well but that’s mostly because of poor batting and good bowling. Pitch hardly has offered anything to the bowlers.
The weather looks good as there are very less chances of rain on the match day, but there will be a slight cloud cover thus rain cannot be counted out. The chances of rain as per Accuweather is 20 per cent. The temperature will range between 18-26 degrees.
Jason Roy, Will Jacks, Sam Billings (c & wk), Jordan Cox, Hilton Cartwright, Sam Curran, Tom Curran, Sunil Narine, Matt Milnes, Reece Topley, Mohammad Hasnain
Will Smeed, Miles Hammond, Moeen Ali (c), Liam Livingstone, Matthew Wade (wk), Chris Benjamin, Benny Howell, Tom Helm, Henry Brookes, Kane Richardson, Imran Tahir
It’s a very important game for both teams thus we feel that they will not be keen on changing the combinations in the coming game.
The two teams met each once last season and Phoenix won the game by six wickets.

Batters | Will Smeed, Will Jacks, Liam Livingstone |
All-rounders | Moeen Ali (C), Sam Curran (VC), Benny Howell, Sunil Narine |
Bowlers | Kane Richardson, Reece Topley, Tom Helm |
Will Jacks is fresh from a brilliant hundred against Southern Brave. He scored his century in just 48 balls. He has had a good tournament with the bat and once again will be key for his team in the coming game.
Moeen Ali has had a top run in the tournament, both with bat and ball. He has been among the wickets in almost every game and hasn’t given any opportunities to score runs against him. He has also played a few good innings with the bat. He is one of the top picks of the match.
Sam Curran is a vital cog in this Oval Invincibles team. He is often used as a floater in the team. In the last game, he was promoted to no 3 and scored a quickfire 27. He is a wonderful bowler as well and often finds himself among the wickets.
Liam Livingstone has blown hot and cold but his match-winning abilities stay the same. On his day, we are well aware that Livingstone can single-handedly win the game for his team.
Reece Topley is having a terrific summer. After performing well for England, he has spelt his magic in the Hundred as well. While he didn’t pick a wicket in the last game, he gave away just 27 runs in 15 balls. He had picked three wickets against Southern Brave.
