This is a must-win game for India after the second match was washed out due to rain. New Zealand won the first match with 7 wickets so India need to win this game to tie the series. In the first match, India posted a score of 306, courtesy of half-centuries by Dhawan, Gill and Shreyas Iyer, however, a magnificent ton by Tom Latham and a half-century by Kane Williamson saw New Zealand through.
The wickets so far have been brilliant for cricket. The new ball has swung early before the wickets have gone flat and easier for batting. Spinners have also got some purchase out of the wicket.
The series has been marred by rain and the final ODI too is in threat of being affected by rain. There are a few chances of rain during the evening which means that the second innings can be interrupted by rain.
Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Kane Williamson (c), Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham (wk), Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Michael Bracewell, Matt Henry, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson
Shikhar Dhawan (c), Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Washington Sundar, Deepak Chahar, Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal
Both teams are likely to field the same team in the coming game. India brought in Hooda in place of Samson for the 2nd ODI and they should stick with the same team.
The head-to-head records suggest that it has been a very close contest between India and New Zealand in ODIs.
Matches Played | IND | NZ | NR | Tie | |

Wicketkeeper | Devon Conway, Tom Latham |

Batters | Suryakumar Yadav (C), Shreyas Iyer, Kane Williamson (VC) |
All-rounders | Mitchell Santner, Deepak Hooda |
Bowlers | Arshdeep Singh, Deepak Chahar Lockie Ferguson, Tim Southee |
Suryakumar Yadav missed out in the first game but he has been in staggering form in the T20Is and is expected to continue his form in ODIs as well. He looked in ruthless touch in the 2nd ODI before rain forced the play to be called off.
Devon Conway didn't score much in the first match but he is one of New Zealand's most consistent batters and is likely to come good in the final game. Conway has scored 363 runs in 9 ODIs, including a century and two half-centuries for NZ.
Kane Williamson really enjoys batting in ODIs. He scored 94 in the first match to help New Zealand beat India by 7 wickets in a chase of 307.
Tim Southee is the best New Zealand bowler in terms of skills and experience. He picked up 3 wickets in the first match. If there is any help on offer from the surface, he will exploit it
Umran Malik was good in patches in the first game and the more he plays, the better he will get so Umran can be expected to better his performance in the final ODI.
