This is a must-win game for both teams. A win here will take the winner to Qualifier 2 which is the gateway to the final while the loser will head back home. Mumbai Indians defeated SRH to march into the top 4. The team will be high on confidence given the form their batters have shown. The likes of Cameron Green, Suryakumar Yadav, and Nehal Wadhera look in great tough. The bowling still remains a concern though.
For LSG, they beat KKR in the last game by 1 run to qualify for the playoffs. LSG have done well as a team as the likes of Krunal Pandya, Nicholas Pooran, Marcus Stoinis and Quinton De Kock have performed well. LSG have a far better bowling lineup, especially the spinners, with the likes of Ravi Bishnoi, Krunal Pandya and Amit Mishra at their disposal. The team will be very confident of winning in the damp conditions of Chennai.
The wicket will grip and turn and run-scoring won’t be easy in the middle phase. Runs in the powerplay and a strong finish will be needed to post a big score on the board.
India has been hit by a heat wave with temperature soaring to 40 degrees. It will be tough for players to play in such humid conditions, however, the good news is that rain will not hamper the game.

There are no injury concerns and both teams are most likely to play the same team. Maybe, MI can think of bringing in Hrithik Shokeen to boost the spin attack but in all probabilities, they will stick to the winning combination.
MI and LSG have faced each other on two instances, one last year and one this year, and in both games, LSG has emerged victorious.

Cameron Green blasted a magnificent century in the last game. Green may not be very consistent but on his day he is a match-winner and he will be high on confidence after a remarkable knock in the last game.
Surya has been in brilliant form for MI and has played a significant role in taking MI to the playoff. He is MI’s leading run scorer with 511 runs in 14 matches.
LSG paid a hefty amount for Nicholas Pooran and the West Indies batter repaid by delivering outstanding performances for his team. Pooran does not have a big hundred to show but he has been very impactful for LSG, playing multiple match-winning cameos this season.
MI will rest their hopes on Piyush Chawla, their best bowler this season. Chawla will get helpful conditions and he will have to make that count in the must-win game for MI.
Krunal Pandya will be a good pick given his all-round skills. He has batted well this season while the conditions of Chennai make him a very good bowling option as well.
