Jamaica started the tournament with a big win over defending champs St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. They defeated the Patriots convincingly by 47 runs after their batters and bowlers came together to put up a dominating display. Batting first, Jamaica posted a strong 183-2 in 20 overs with Brandon King scoring 89, Kennar Lewis making 48 and Rovman Powell scoring 30. Later, the bowlers restricted Patriots to 136-8 with every bowler chipping in with wickets.
Meanwhile, Guyana Amazon Warriors will play their first match of CPL 2022. They reached the semis last year but lost to the Patriots. With players like Shimron Hetmyer, Colin Ingram, Paul Stirling, Imran Tahir, and Tabraiz Shamsi, among others, they have a good team on paper
The wicket looks good to bat as the ball is not doing much off the deck barring the first couple of overs with the new ball. However, bowlers who are bowling wicket to wicket line are troubling the batters as it’s never easy to score off good balls.
There is a 50 per cent chance of rain on the match day. The temperature will range between 25 to 29 degrees and the humidity will be high in the late 70s
Brandon King, Amir Jangoo (wk), Rovman Powell (c), Shamarh Brooks, Fabian Allen, Kennar Lewis, Imad Wasim, Chris Green, Mohammad Amir, Migael Pretorius, Nicholson Gordon
Paul Stirling, Hemraj Chandrapaul, Shai Hope/Junior Sinclair/Matthew Nandu, Shimron Hetmyer, Colin Ingram, Heinrich Klaasen, Romario Shepherd, Odean Smith, Keemo Paul, Gudakesh Motie, Imran Tahir
Jamaica is unlikely to change their winning combination. However, Guyana will miss the services of Tabraiz Shamsi who is with the Trent Rockets team for the Hundred.
Jamaica Tallawahs have lost 14 of the 22 matches played against Guyana Amazon Warriors.

After a good series against India, King continued his form in CPL and smashed 89 runs off 57 balls, including six sixes and eight fours against St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. This is what King can do on his day which makes him a very good pick for fantasy players.
Ever since Powell played the IPL 2022, he has improved his game leaps and bound. His performance in international games has been good as well. In the first match of the CPL 2022, he continued his good form and scored an unbeaten 30 off 15 balls. Powell is a player who can do serious damage even if he plays lesser balls thus he is a very good pick for fantasy teams.
Shimron Hetmyer is a match winner on his day. While his recent performances have not been great, he can turn things around in no time. He also makes it to our team based on his match-winning skills and past reputation.
Spinners will not be easy to score off on this surface and Imad Wasim is a great bowler because of his ability to bowl wicket to wicket line. He picked up 2 wickets for 20 runs in the last game against the Patriots. He is also a good batter in the middle order.
A very good all-round option from Guyana Amazon Warriors. Smith can hit the ball miles down the order but we are picking him because of his bowling skills. Smith was in good form in the T20I series against India and picked three wickets at an average of 31.
