South Africa defeated Ireland in the first T20I but not before Ireland gave them a real scare. Chasing a target of 212, Ireland managed to score 190-9, despite being five down at the score of 84. Ireland must be proud of the way they have played in recent times.
They were very competitive against New Zealand as well. These are good signs for Ireland and world cricket. The team has built a strong core and the more they will play against stronger teams, the better they will get.
Coming back to the second T20I, South Africa will start as favourites, however, after the performance in the previous game, Ireland’s confidence will also be high. We are expecting a good match between the two teams.
Almost 400 runs were scored in the first T20I which is sufficient to tell that the wicket is heavily in favour of the batters. Once again, a high-scoring game is on the cards.
The weather will be bright and sunny and there are no chances of rain. The wind will be blowing at 18KMPH, and the temperature will range between 8 to 22 degrees.

David Miller and Rilee Rossouw didn’t play the first game. This is the best series for SA to test their young guns thus these two senior players are likely to sit out in the second game as well. Ireland are most likely to play the same team.
Both teams have not played each other many times in T20Is, and in the few games they have played, South Africa have emerged victorious.

All-rounders | Gareth Delany, Dwayne Pretorius, Andy McBrine |
Wicketkeeper | Lorcan Tucker |
Bowlers | Keshav Maharaj, Tabraiz Shamsi (VC) Joshua Little |
Hendricks has been in terrific form of late. After scoring three half centuries against England in three consecutive games, he scored a brilliant match winning 74 against Ireland. He is a top player to have in the team.
We are keeping Paul Stirling in the team because he is a match winner for Ireland. While his recent performances have been ordinary, one cannot dedny the fact that he can be brutal on his day. He is sort of a gamble if pays off will give us many points.
Lorcan Tucker played a magnificent knock of 78 off 38 balls in the last T20I and kept Ireland in the hunt for chasing 212. He has been a good player for Ireland for quite some time now and will be looking to continue his form.
Shamsi is a very difficult bowler to face and is always among the wickets due to his variation and impeccable lines. He picked two wickets in the last game and is expected to be among the wickets in the second game as well.
Shamsi’s spin partner Keshav Maharaj also picked up two wickets in the match. He too has been very economical and among the wickets. The two bowlers will be the biggest challenge for Ireland.
