Venue | Civil Service Cricket Club, Belfast |
Ireland have taken a 2-0 lead in the series after winning the first two games. They defeated Afghanistan by 5 wickets in the previous T20I. Having restricted Afghanistan to 122, they chased the target with 5 wickets to spare. Afghanistan now need to win all games to win the series.
The problem for the visitors has been their batting. In both games, the batters have failed to perform. Afghanistan’s bowling, especially Rashid Khan, has looked ordinary. Ireland are very close to winning the series but they will know that this Afghanistan team can’t be taken lightly.
The surface is a belter of a wicket. The pace and bounce are constant while there is no lateral movement as well. It’s tailor-made for a high-scoring game if the batters play well.
The weather will be clear and there are no chances of rain. The temperature will range between 25 degrees to 16 degrees.
Paul Stirling, Andrew Balbirnie (c), Lorcan Tucker (wk), Harry Tector, Curtis Campher, Gareth Delany, George Dockrell, Andy McBrine, Mark Adair, Barry McCarthy, Joshua Little
hmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Usman Ghani, Hashmatullah Shahidi/Hazratullah Zazai, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi (c), Ibrahim Zadran, Azmatullah Omarzai, Rashid Khan, Naveen-ul-Haq, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fazalhaq Farooqi
Both teams have a pretty settled set up thus we don’t think there will be too many changes. However, Afghanistan may give Hazratullah Zazai a game.
Ireland have battered their record against Afghanistan in the series, but they would like to win at least one more game to win the series.

After scoring a brilliant 50 in the last game, Balbirnie scored 46 in the second T20I. The skipper is leading from the front and is a good pick for our team given his form.
He has not been in great form, but we will have him in the team as we feel that a big inning is around the corner. He is getting starts but not converting them into big scores. But a possibility of a big knock is always there.s
Rahmanullah Gurbaz has had an ordinary outings in two games but count him out at your own peril. He is a class batter and will be determined to come good in the coming game. He is a match winner on his day thus we are having him in the team.
Mohammad Nabi is not the same player he used to be, but he too is due for a good performance soon. Nabi can win a team a match with the bat and can also do well with the ball, thus he is a great selection and adds a lot of balance to the fantasy team.
As mentioned before, in a T20I game, Rashid Khan has to be in every fantasy team. He may not perform well but the expectations are always there with him.
