Despite playing so well in the recent few months, Ireland fell agonisingly short of winning the games against teams like New Zealand and South Africa. However, against Afghanistan, they bettered their performance and fetched an elite win. The hosts won the 1st T20I by 7 wickets. Chasing a target of 171, skipper Andrew Balbirnie played a brilliant knock of 51 while Lorcan Tucker scored 50 to take the team close. A cameo of 25 by Harry Tector gave the team an impressive win.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan were not bad at all. They got a good start but lost the way in the middle. A strong finish by Ibrahim Zadran took the team to a good total. They have a quality bowling line-up and will not make it easy for Ireland despite their win in the last game.
The surface is a good one to bat. There was not a lot of movement or spin on offer for the bowler in the first game and the wicket should not change much for the second game either.
The weather will be clear, bright and sunny. There are no chances of rain, and we should get a full game without any interruption. The temperature will range between 13 to 26 degrees.

Hazratullah Zazai didn’t play the first game thus there is a possibility that Afghanistan might give him a go at the top. Ireland will play the same team after the win.
Ireland have a poor head to head record against Afghanistan but they can better than record in this series as they are playing at home.

Balbirnie played a brilliant knock of 51 in the previous game. He took just 38 balls for the same. What made this knock special was the way he handled the Afghan spinners. He will be a key player for Ireland in the second T20I as well.
Harry Tector played a wonderful cameo of 25 off 15 balls to take Ireland home. Tector has been in great form of late and the innings will help him forget the failures in recent couple of outings. Tector is a big hitter of the cricket ball and can tackle the Afghan spinners well.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz is an exciting Afghan cricketer. He is an opener and likes to take the attack to the opposition. On his day, he can be very destructive at the top. His blitz in recent times also earned him an IPL contract in 2022 which reflects a lot about his potential as a batter.
Nabi is a handy all-rounder to have. He can score run and can bowl his full quota of overs. While his performances of late have not been great, he still is a key player in this Afghan team and can win the game on his own on his day.
There can be no fantasy team without Rashid Khan. He can have a off day, but one cannot take any chance by leaving him out of the team.
