Date | 24th January 2023 |
Time | 1:30 PM IST, 8:00 PM GMT 1:30 PM LOCAL |
Venue | Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore |
India had an outstanding outing in the second ODI of the series as they thrashed New Zealand by eight wickets. The win also gave India an unassailable lead in the series. The final game of the series is now a dead rubber but there is still a lot to play for both teams. India will be looking to use this as an opportunity to test their bench strength and see if the players warming the bench can fit into the playing 11 while New Zealand would be keen to avoid a clean sweep.
The Indore wicket should not be anything that we saw in Raipur where the ball moved sideways. The wicket here should be good for batting, there should be some movement with the new ball though, but not as drastic as Raipur.
The weather will be clear and sunny. The temperature will range between 27 and 13 degrees.
Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli/Rajat Patidar, Ishan Kishan (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami/Umran Malik, Mohammed Siraj
Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Henry Nicholls, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham (c & wk), Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner, Henry Shipley, Lockie Ferguson, Blair Tickner/Jacob Duffy
Given that the game is a dead rubber, India may want to test their bench strength. Rajat Patidar and Umran Malik can feature in the game.

Shubman Gill has been in stellar form in recent times. After scoring a magnificent double ton in the first game, he played another good knock of 40 in a modest chase of 109. Gill is in the form of his life and another good show is expected of him in the coming game.
Suryakumar Yadav has been in stellar form in T20Is but so far hasn't been able to convert the talent into performances in ODIs. He hasn't got many opportunities as well. With 3rd ODI being a dead rubber, India may rest their seniors, and this is where Surya can get a chance to play more balls and score big.
There is not much to talk about Kiwi players in the series but Michael Bracewell looks a good cricketer. After a stellar century in the 1st match, he played a cameo in 2nd ODI as well. He is also a decent option with the ball in middle overs.
Mohammed Siraj has been on fire in the last few series. He is always amongst the wickets with the new ball and has played a significant role in India's success.
Mitchell Santner will be a good wicket-taking prospect in the coming game owing to his ability to bowl tight lines consistently.
