India have been knocked out of the final race of Asia Cup after two back-to-back losses to Pakistan and Sri Lanka. India have not looked a settled unit in the tournament. The bowling especially has been off-colour. In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Harshal Patel, the fast bowlers have been hammered by the opposition batters. Also, the spinners have not looked very effective. Against Afghanistan, the team will be looking to give their best shot and end the tournament on a high. However, Afghanistan have been phenomenal in the tournament so it won’t be easy.
Afghanistan have also been eliminated from the final race but they have probably played the best cricket among all teams. They defeated Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to qualify for the next round, and then almost won against Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the Super 4. However, they failed to close the games and bowed out of the tournament. It will be a very competitive game to watch.
The wicket has been very good in the tournament. The new ball has swung a bit but overall it has been a good batting surface. Spinners have looked ineffective so far but with plenty of cricket already been played, the wicket might have lost some pace which might help the spinners.
The weather will be hot with temperatures soaring to 40 degrees, but players from both teams are used to playing at such high temperatures.
Rohit Sharma (c), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Hardik Pandya, Deepak Hooda, R Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal
Hazratullah Zazai, Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Ibrahim Zadran, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi (c), Karim Janat, Rashid Khan, Azmatullah Omarzai, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fareed Ahmad Malik, Fazalhaq Farooqi
We don’t see both teams making changes to their combination in the coming game.
Afghanistan are yet to beat India in a T20I game. They have only played 3 games against each other.

Virat Kohli was dismissed for a duck against Sri Lanka but he has been in good form in the tournament. He scored back-to-back half-centuries against Hong Kong and Pakistan before the game against Sri Lanka. He will look to continue the momentum he has picked in the tournament.
Rohit Sharma played a blazing knock of 72 off 41 balls against Sri Lanka. Rohit has tried to play aggressive cricket in recent times and even though he has not got many big scores, on his day, if he stays at the wicket for 50 balls, he will get a big score.
Gurbaz has looked threatening in the tournament. After a blazing 84 against Sri Lanka, he played a cameo of 17 to get Afghanistan off to a good start against Pakistan. However, he threw away his wicket to a poor shot. But he has the skills to decimate the best bowling units and will be keen to perform well against India.
The champion bowler had a brilliant game against Pakistan and almost helped the team defend 129. However, Afghanistan lost the match by one wicket, but Rashid once again proved that he is a match winner for his team.
After a disappointing few games, Chahal bounced back against Sri Lanka and picked three wickets to bring India back in the contest after Sri Lanka got off to a great start. Given that the Afghans often struggle against the spinners, Chahal is a good pick.
