After two weeks of intense battle for the IPL title, two of the best teams in the tournament, CSK and GT made it to the summit clash. CSK qualified for the final after beating Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1 while the Hardik Pandya-led side come back strong from the defeat against CSK and thrashed MI in the Qualifier 2 to book a title clash with CSK.

In a big game such as a final, there are no favourites but Gujarat Titans will be backing themselves to win back-to-back titles given that they are playing at home and are well aware of the conditions. CSK has a team that does well in conditions where spinners get some help but the Qualifier 2 was evident enough to show that there won’t be much help on offer for the bowlers. CSK will have to rely on their batters to post or chase big runs, but that won’t be easy against a class GT bowling, which is capable enough to dismantle the team even in batting-friendly conditions.

Devon Conway

For CSK, Devon Conway will be the most important player with the bat. The southpaw has been very consistent throughout the season with over 600 runs. Conway has looked like getting a big score for CSK but has not been able to breach the 100-run mark. CSK would certainly love to see Conway score a century in the final.

Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan has been brilliant in the season for Gujarat Titans. Every time Hardik Pandya has turned to him, he has given the team a breakthrough. With 27 wickets in 16 matches, he is also in the hunt for the purple cap. Rashid can be a game-changer for GT, especially if CSK chase in the match.

Mohit Sharma

Against MI, Mohit Sharma changed the game in favour of CSK in just 2 overs. MI were threatening to chase the 234 runs target with Suryakumar Yadav going all guns blazing, however, Sharma dismissed him along with Vishnu Vinod in one over to tilt the momentum in favour of GT. He then dismissed Chris Jordan, Piyush Chawla and Kumar Karthikeya to end the match with figures of 5-10 in 2.2 overs.

Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja has done well for CSK this season, with the bat, when given an opportunity and with the ball as well. Jadeja has taken 19 wickets so far and is expected to do well in the final as well.
