Date | 28th October 2022 |
Time | 1:30 PM IST, 8:00 AM GMT, 7:00 PM LOCAL |
Venue | Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne |
Australia vs England is probably the most important game of the group. Australia lost the first match to New Zealand and England lost to Ireland in the last game. Post their defeat to New Zealand, Australia defeated Sri Lanka while England also picked up a win over Afghanistan.
With one win and one loss each in the two games, both teams cannot afford to lose the coming game and that will significantly reduce their chances of progressing to the semis.
The wicket will not be easy to bat early on but it will get better as the match will progress. A score of around 170 can be hard to chase.
The weather is not very promising as there is 90 per cent chance of rain. The temperatures will dip to as low as10 degrees so it won’t be easy for the players out there.
Jos Buttler (c & wk), Alex Hales, Dawid Malan, Ben Stokes, Liam Livingstone, Harry Brook, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood
David Warner, Aaron Finch (c), Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Tim David, Matthew Wade (wk), Pat Cummins, Ashton Agar, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood
Both teams are likely to field the same team that featured in the last game.
AUS vs ENG Head-to-Head Records
The two Ashes rivals have shared a cracking rivalry in T20Is as well.

Bowlers | Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, Josh Hazlewood |
David Warner has not played any big knock in the tournament so far. However, he is one of the best batters in T20I cricket going around. He has a great record against England as well so Warner is a good pick for our team.
If Australia has Warner, England have Buttler. Both are similar kinds of players, very aggressive, and have a great record against their Ashes rivals. Coincidently, both Buttler and Warner have had a quiet tournament but it won’t be a surprise if both come good in the coming game.
Marcus Stoinis played a brutal inning of 59 off 18 balls and helped Australia beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets. Stoinis is also a handy option with the ball so he is a solid pick for our fantasy team.
Sam Curran has been brilliant in the two games he has played so far. He is England’s highest wicket-taker in the tournament with seven wickets in 2 games, including a fifer against Afghanistan.
Josh Hazlewood could be a great option to have in the team. He is very accurate with his lines and thus is not easy to face at all. On a good day, Hazlewood can pick 3-4 or even five wickets in a spell.
