SRH Team News & Playing 11
Team News
Martin Guptill timed his return from injury to perfection, stepping in to replace out-of-form Tom Yuvraj Singh returned to the starting line-up for Sunrisers’ win against Kings XI Punjab – their first win away from home in this year’s competition. It means Hyderabad boast one of the most fearsome top orders in the competition, with David Warner, Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson joining Singh in the top four.
Key Players
David Warner’s 51 against Kings XI Punjab was his third half-century of this year’s competition, while he has also been twice dismissed in the 40s too. Shikhar Dhawan scored 77, meanwhile – his highest score of this year’s competition – and Kane Williamson smashed an unbeaten half-century, to follow scores of 21 and 89 in his previous two matches. With the ball, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has now taken 18 wickets – no other bowler has more.
Recent Form
A last-ball defeat to the Supergiants was followed by a washout against Bangalore, leaving Sunrisers in need of a win against Kings XI Punjab. They did exactly that, however, passing 200 for the second time in this year’s competition.

KKR Team News & Playing 11
Team News
Kolkata maintained their fine form with a seven-wicket victory against Delhi Daredevils, in a game which saw Nathan Coulter-Nile return to the team to take his wicket tally to 11 in four games. Darren Bravo was replaced by Sheldon Jackson in order to accommodate Coulter-Nile in one of the four overseas players spots, and the Knight Riders may well stick with the same XI.
Key Players
Gautham Gambhir’s unbeaten 71 fired Kolkata to victory against Delhi, as he cemented his place as top run scorer in this year’s competition with his fourth half-century in nine games. Gambhir has now scored 376 runs in this year’s competition, while team-mate Robin Uthappa has scored 331, with his 59 against Delhi also taking him to four half-centuries so far. With the ball, Nathan Coulter-Nile has picked up 11 wickets in four games, including three in the stunning thrashing of Royal Challengers Bangalore. Chris Woakes and Colin de Grandhomme also picked up three wickets apiece in that game, as RCB were bowled out for 49.
Recent Form
Kolkata are the form team in this year’s IPL, winning seven of their nine fixtures so far. Since losing to Gujarat Lions on April 21, the Knight Riders have won three in a row, including that stunning victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore and the comfortable win against Delhi Daredevils las time out.

SRH vs KKR Head to Head
Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Kolkata in the preliminary play-off last year, on their way to winning the 2016 IPL, but have not beaten the Knight Riders in the league stage since 2015. Kolkata won their first clash this season by 17 runs. Their last league stage match at Hyderabad saw Gautam Gambhir smash an unbeaten 90 from 60 balls as the Knight Riders won by eight wickets.
SRH vs KKR Betting Odds
Sunrisers Hyderabad are slight favourites despite Kolkata Knight Riders topping the IPL 2017 table. Betfair are offering 1.83 on the Sunrisers, while Kolkata can be backed at 2.00. David Warner is 2.88 to be the Sunrisers’ top batsman, while Yuvraj Singh can be backed at 5.5. For Kolkata, Gautam Gambhir is 3.6 to continue his fine form and finish as the Knight Riders’ top batsman, while Robin Uthappa – who inspired them to victory against Sunrisers last time out – is also available at 3.6
SRH vs KKR Prediction
Sunrisers Hyderabad may be defending champions, but it is Kolkata who have made the better start to this year’s competition. At Deccan, however, the defending champions have looked good, with David Warner scoring freely. A win will help close the gap to the league leaders.
Final Verdict: Back Sunrisers Hyderabad to beat Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL at 1.83 with Betfair.
