Having gone 2-0 up in the five-match one-day international series, New Zealand will look to seal the series in the third game against Pakistan at the University Oval, Dunedin. The third ODI is scheduled to be played on January 13 with live action to begin at 11 AM local time.
Martin Guptill's unbeaten knock of 86 and Ross Taylor's 45 steered New Zealand to an eight-wicket victory over Pakistan at Nelson. Both these batsmen will be expected to score big again along with Colin Munro and Kane Williamson who scored 58 and 115 respectively in the first ODI. Tim Southee has taken five wickets in two games and he will be the danger man with the new ball. Trent Boult and Todd Astle have taken three wickets apiece and the Kiwis will want them to provide good support to Southee.
Mohammad Hafeez played a crucial knock of 60 in the last game and took Pakistan to a respectable total of 246. While the team will want him to replicate that performance at Dunedin, they will also hope for strong contributions from Babar Azam and Azhar Ali at the top. Hasan Ali who notched up three big wickets in the first ODI and Mohammad Amir who was very economical in the second will be the main threats for New Zealand. Leg-spinner Shadab Khan will have an important role to play in the middle overs.

Pakistan on the other hand have been outplayed in both the games and have plenty to think about ahead of this must-win encounter. New Zealand vs Pakistan 3rd ODI Prediction
Pakistan now find themselves under a lot of pressure as they need to win this match in order to keep the series alive. So this will be a big test for their batting line-up that has a tendency to crumble under pressure. The visitors are struggling in both batting and bowling departments in these testing conditions and it will be very difficult for them to overcome an upbeat Kiwi side who have never lost an ODI at this ground. New Zealand appear extremely confident at the moment and we predict them to win this match and take an unsurpassable 3-0 lead.
Final Verdict: Back New Zealand to beat Pakistan in the third ODI at 1.41 on betfair and 1.36 each on Ladbrokes, Unibet and Betway.
