Toss Prediction
Five of the first six matches played at Dubai at this year’s Pakistan Super League 2017 ended in victory for the team batting second. Quetta Gladiators bucked that trend when they beat Lahore Qalanders in their opening match, but you can expect the team winning the toss to bowl first. Karachi Kings lost both of their opening matches at Dubai in this year’s competition having been asked to bat first – including a seven-wicket defeat to Quetta.

Karachi Kings Team News & Playing 11
Team News
Having ended a run of three straight defeats with back-to-back wins in their previous two matches, it’s unlikely Karachi Kings will make any changes to the team which beat Peshawar Zalmi in matchday 13.
Key Players
Despite boasting the star quality of West Indian big-hitters Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard, it has been Karachi’s Pakistan internationals who have impressed so far. While Gayle has failed to fire so far, Babar Azam has hit 153 runs in five matches and Shoaib Malik has weighed in with 155 runs. Babar Azam hit 50 against Quetta Gladiators in their last meeting, while Malik’s unbeaten 51 helped Karachi to victory against Peshawar Zalmi on Sunday. With the ball, Sohail Khan has picked up a tournament-high nine wickets so far, while Usama Mir has taken two wickets in each of Karachi’s last three matches.
Recent Form
After losing their first three games, including a seven-wicket defeat to Quetta, Karachi have turned it around in their last two matches. A rain-affected victory against Islamabad ended their losing streak, while victory against Peshawar Zalmi lifted them off the bottom of the table and into the play-off places.

Quetta Gladiators Team News & Playing 11
Team News
Tymal Mills, who has just agreed a $1.8m contract with Royal Challengers Bangalore for this year’s IPL, is fit again after missing all three matches at Sharjah. Mahmudullah was the man to replace Mills for those three matches, and if the English pace bowler returns it will mean either the Bangladeshi all-rounder or Sri Lanka’s Thisara Perera must be replaced.
Key Players
South African Rilee Rossouw has led Quetta Gladiators’ batting, and only Islamabad United’s Dwayne Smith scored more than Rossouw’s 176 runs in the first five matches, including two half-centuries. Kevin Pietersen scored just three runs in Quetta’s first three matches, but rediscovered his best form against Lahore last time out as he smashed eight sixes on his way to a match-winning 88 not out from 42 balls. Captain Sarfraz Ahmed, who weighed in with a crucial 45 from 25 balls in that match, has also starred with the bat, and scored 56 not out against Karachi in their last meeting. Teenager Hasan Khan has impressed with the ball, meanwhile. His left-arm spin bowling has claimed six wickets so far with an economy rate of less than a run-a-ball.
Recent Form
Last year’s runners-up have won three of their first five matches, with a fourth game called off. Only defending champions Islamabad United have beaten the Gladiators so far this season, and Quetta find themselves top of the table after five matches as a result.

Karachi Kings vs Quetta Gladiators Head to Head
Quetta Gladiators have beaten Karachi Kings in all three matches the two teams have played against each other, including twice at the Dubai International Stadium. Karachi have batted first on all three occasions. In their most recent encounter, Rilee Rossouw and Sarfraz Ahmed both hit unbeaten half-centuries as Quetta stormed to victory with five balls to spare.
Karachi Kings vs Quetta Gladiators Prediction
Karachi Kings may have returned to winning ways of late, but Quetta Gladiators have lost just once in Pakistan Super League 2017. They have never failed to beat Karachi in their three previous encounters, and have only lost two of their eight previous matches at Dubai International Stadium.
Kevin Pietersen’s return to form in their previous match, and the contributions of Sarfraz Ahmed with the bat too, mean Quetta are less dependent on Rilee Rossouw’s batting than they perhaps were earlier in the tournament too. If Karachi’s Chris Gayle can find some form it may be a different story, but with just 30 runs from his first five matches he has failed to live up to expectations so far.
Final Verdict: Back Quetta Gladiators to beat Karachi Kings in the 15th match of PSL 2017
